❤️🏀 **I NEED TO ASK OUR COMMUNITY FOR A LITTLE HELP.** 🏀❤️
When Elise and I started opening the doors for Above the Rim, we honestly didn't know exactly what it would become. We just knew we loved kids, we had a gym, and if they were going to spend their afternoons with us, we were going to make sure they ate before they went home.
We never imagined how quickly our little family would grow.
For the past 19 months, we've opened our doors four days a week, averaging around 45 kids a day. When I actually sat down and did the math, it stopped me in my tracks.
That's approximately 14,860 meals.
Almost 15,000 times we've had the privilege of putting a plate in front of a child.🥹
And somehow, we've always made it work. My son, my daughter, my sister volunteer daily. All without asking or expecting anything…just to help . It’s a family effort…but we need you!
We've bought groceries ourselves. We've cooked. Our friends have cooked. Churches and businesses have stepped in. People have dropped off snacks, cases of drinks and groceries. We've stretched meals when more kids showed up than expected. And time after time, **God has provided.**
But our kids keep coming, our family keeps growing, and right now we could really use some help.
We are especially in need of snacks, drinks, bottled water, groceries and meals. We would also love to partner with more local restaurants, churches, businesses, families or individuals who might be willing to sponsor a meal or regularly help stock our pantry.
You don't have to do something huge.
A case of water matters. A box of chips matters. A $25 grocery card matters. Feeding dinner one night matters.
Because when you're feeding 40–50 kids at a time, every single donation means something.
And to us, it has never really been about the food anyway.
It's about a kid walking through those doors knowing:
There's a place for me.
There's a plate for me.
Someone was expecting me.
Someone cares that I'm here.
We never want to have to turn a child away because we can't afford to feed one more.
So we're asking our community to help us keep saying YES.
Yes, come in.
Yes, grab a plate.
Yes, you're part of this family. ❤️
