What a day! 💛🍋

We had an absolute blast today, and we are so thankful for everyone who came out and supported our kids. Thanks to this incredible community, we raised $455! Every single penny will go directly back into serving the youth of our great city through Above the Rim Buford.
If you missed it, don’t worry. We’ll definitely be doing it again!

The highlight of the day may have been watching the kids transform into little sales professionals. They stood proudly by the road, waving, smiling, and enthusiastically shouting, “GET YOUR LEMONADE AND COOKIES!” to every car that passed by. Their energy was contagious, and it was impossible not to smile. We may have a few future entrepreneurs in the making!

More importantly, today was another reminder of what can happen when a community comes together around its young people. The lemonade and cookies were great, but the real success was seeing kids learn confidence, teamwork, responsibility, and the value of hard work.

Thank you, City of Buford, for always showing up for our youth. Together, let's continue investing in the next generation and building something special. One child, one opportunity, and yes, one cup of lemonade at a time. 🍋🏀❤️

Today we made dirt cups, played baseball and basketball, harvested fresh cilantro from our garden, and enjoyed street tacos together. On the surface, it may seem like just another day at Above the Rim. But excellence is found in the small things done well, over and over again.

A few months ago, that cilantro was just a seed. Today it was part of a meal shared with our kids. Excellence works the same way. It starts small. It starts with showing up. It starts with effort when nobody is watching. Over time, those small acts grow into something meaningful.

I haven't taken many pictures lately because we've been busy doing the work. Busy building relationships. Busy serving meals. Busy encouraging kids. Busy planting seeds—both in the garden and in young lives.

At Above the Rim, our goal has never been simply to provide a place to play basketball. Our goal is to create a culture of excellence. A culture where kids learn that greatness isn't something you achieve overnight. It's something you pursue every day.

Every meal served.
Every game played.
Every lesson taught.
Every conversation shared.
Those moments matter.

Because excellence eventually evolves into significance. And significance is leaving people better than you found them.

Today wasn't just a great day at Above the Rim.
It was another step toward building a generation that understands what excellence truly looks like. 🏀🌱❤️

Our garden is growing… and so is Above The Rim Buford. 🌱

There’s something philosophical about planting seeds. You water them faithfully, often before you ever see results. That’s how this mission has felt. Quiet acts of love, meals served, games played, conversations had, and little by little… growth happens.

We are building more than a program. We are cultivating hope, community, and a safe place for kids to grow.

We’ve had several inquiries about registration, so we wanted to share our registration link again.

Please remember that Above the Rim Buford is always completely free for all kids. We simply ask families to complete the registration form so we can plan meals appropriately and make sure we have accurate emergency contact information for each child.
