GKYS Open Seminar & Dynamic Sparring Tournament Update

Unfortunately, after careful discussion and consideration, we have decided to postpone the GKYS Open Seminar & Dynamic Sparring Tournament that was scheduled for Saturday, January 31st.

We understand this is the second time this event has been postponed, and we truly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

Over the past 24 hours, our leadership team and volunteers reviewed:

❄️ Extreme cold warnings
🌨️ Potential snow beginning early Saturday morning
🏫 GCPS canceling or rescheduling weekend activities
🚗 Road safety concerns for early-morning travel

After our leadership meeting, we all agreed that the safety of our students, families, and volunteers must come first.

Even if snowfall is uncertain, the combination of freezing temperatures, early-morning conditions, and community-wide cancellations creates unnecessary risk.

✅ New Event Date

📅 Saturday, February 7th

The seminar and Dynamic Sparring Tournament will be held on the new date with the same format and training content.

This additional time will allow everyone to prepare comfortably and focus fully on training quality rather than weather concerns.
