Buffalo United Flag Football The Buffalo United Flag Football League is the only not for profit LGBTQ+ recreational sports league serving Western New York.

Official affiliate of the National Gay Flag Football League. Buffalo United Flag Football (a division of the Buffalo Gay Football League) is a recreational league serving the Western New York LGBTQ+ community and their allies. Founded in 2024, our goal is to create a safe and fun environment where adults can play the game of football as their authentic selves. We welcome players of all skill levels, even if you have never played football or any sport, we welcome and encourage you to join us!

Closing Party 2026 (Part 1/2)

Wow, what a season. Truly our biggest yet spanning over the course of 3 months and roughly 100 players and BUBs registered! It’s been amazing how far we’ve come and grown as a league in such a short time.

Thank you Monica Ryu aka Dad, for serving as Co-Commissioner for the past 3 years, there’s absolutely no way we’d be here without you. You’ll be deeply missed on the field (though I’m not fully convinced of this “retirement” just yet…😉)

Thank you Hombre y Lobo and LALO Tequila for hosting and sponsoring one banger of a Closing Party! And thank you Michael Puglia for capturing it!

But most of all, thank you to everyone who’s made this season so special. We suffered an incredible loss only a couple of weeks into the season, which made us even stronger as a community. We’ve created something special these past 3 years and I (speaking for the board) am so excited to see what comes next!

We’re looking for members of our community to join the 2027 Board! It’s a lot of behind-the-scenes and often thankless work, but if you’re willing to put in the effort, it’s incredibly rewarding!

⭐️Submissions open 9/14–10/9, with elections 10/16–10/23.
⭐️The current board will serve through the end of 2026.

**Assistant Commissioner / Head of Tournaments is also up for election though it requires one full year of prior board experience.
