If you're an Advanced Diver who's ready to push further, this is the course - the NAUI Master Scuba Diver, the highest non-teaching recreational certification in the NAUI program.
The course consists of five modules:
1. The Responsible Diver (must be completed first)
Classroom: diving physics, physiology, emergency procedures, and dive planning. Open water at Windmill Quarry - skills evaluation, skin and scuba dives.
2. Diving Environment & Diving Equipment
Gear deep-dive: cylinders, regulators, BCDs, computers, dive lights - plus what our service techs actually do during a service. Open water is a Niagara River Drift Dive including navigation, underwater mapping, and a night dive.
3. Shipwreck Diving
Research, legal considerations, hazards, and preservation. Two dives on a local wreck -including recording measurements to help identify it.
4. UW Navigation / Search & Recovery
Finding and recovering targets using coordinates and proper rigging/lifting equipment.
5. Deep & Simulated Decompression Diving
Decompression theory, nitrogen narcosis, dive tables, and computers. Dives run through Osprey Charters in Barcelona, NY or you can complete these on a DIPNDIVE trip.
