The hardest career in the world is that of being a mother. The most exhausting, stressful, detail-oriented and fragile job. 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. No vacations, no sick leave and no substitute. The salary is zero and the operating costs are incalculable.

Of all the careers in the world, it is certainly the one that transforms the human being the most internally. The one that generates and cultivates the greatest number of positive and noble feelings; love, affection, compassion, understanding, altruism, generosity and true forgiveness.

Being a mother brings all women a little closer to God - even those who do not believe in Him. I have never met a mother who did not have a great deal of faith. Not necessarily faith in the same God or the same beliefs. But mothers have an unshakable faith that overcomes any fear of possible irremediable events.

Mom, you have an incredible ability to make the hardest job in the world seem so easy. Thanks for teaching me love, compassion, patience, endurance and kindness. Thanks for giving me the best things in life, including life itself. I see you in every step of my way and I hear your voice in every corner and every street.

As someone that has been on the other side would say, we are binded forever together in the multiple lives we will still get to share on this planet, and I hope I’ll have time to pay you back with love and grattitude for everything you’ve sacrificed for me on this current one.

Happy Birthday. I love you until the end of all the living things.
