Looks like the forecast for a good bite is coming thru. Robert caught a nice Flathead this morning and a box full of fish to go with it. He was using Goldfish and cut bait. Y’all better get them lines out before he catches them all.

River Update!!
It’s about to get good! The Tombigbee looks like by Sunday the crappie and bream should turn it in. You have a probably a week left of the river falling so if you haven’t got on the catfish now would be a good time.
We’re fully stocked on all live bait. Come see us.

No matter what shop you walk into, we’re all part of the same fishing community. Prayers for his family and everyone feeling this loss. Rest easy, sir.

Today is a hard day for us at The Field and for my family.

Many of you knew Maurice as the one opening up the bait shop every morning with a smile on his face, ready to talk fishing, hunting, life, or help you grab live bait before heading out. What some saw as a quick stop for bait was so much more to him. He truly loved the people, the conversations, and all of his fishing buddies that came through those doors each day.

Fishing wasn’t just a hobby to him, it was something that brought him peace and happiness, and he loved sharing that with everyone around him.

We are heartbroken as we honor his memory, but we are thankful for every friendship, story, laugh, and moment shared at the bait shop over the past few years.

We will miss you so much Big Daddy!
