Well, the 2022 Nationals are in the books. The program fielded a team of 5 Juniors who competed in the P-100, NTI, 2-member Junior team match, and the 6-member team, which had two Juniors from California compete with the team. This is all made possible through funding, part of which is supplied by the West Virginia State Rifle and Pistol Association through the sale of raffle tickets on an M-1 rifle. The rifle that General Patton said was the best battle implement ever created. So, we are once again selling tickets on an M-1 rifle and ask our viewers to pitch in. Three tickets for $10. WVSRPA is also raffling off a C**t Python 3-tickets for $20. Email me at [email protected] for tickets.
The year the team was headed up by Karee and Kaitlyn Hutson, who chased each other across the course with Karee edging Kaitlyn by 1 point, but Kaitlyn had the best X count. These two team members continue to excel on the rifle range. Logan and Hailey (brother and sister) from California was our second pair to shoot and they posted respectable scores. Rylee Hitt and Dani Hovis were the final pair to shoot and Dani posted her best aggregate so far. Well there is always next year which will see one of our Juniors age out.
I leave you with this article. Some of you may have read it, but others may not have.
"Them better." "The credit belongs to the man {person} who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcomng; but who does actually strive to do the deeds, who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself {themselves} in a worthy cause, who at best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he {they} fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his {their} place shall never be with those cold an timid souls who neither know victory or defeat" Theodore Roosevelt
