Hellbender Outdoors was birthed from a lifelong passion for watersports. Dan Meyers, Founder, has been bursting for decades to bring his creations to life. Dan was introduced to paddling at the age of 4, and entered his first whitewater canoe race at the age of 7. He continued his competitive pursuits throughout the 80’s, winning numerous regional and national titles, and represented the United States in several World Championships as a member of the U.S. In 1985, He began working for the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC), a recognized world leader in outdoor recreation and adventure, spending a total of 12 seasons working as a whitewater raft guide and canoe instructor. Hellbender Outdoors aims to provide the highest quality custom built Canoes, Kayaks, and stand up paddleboards (as well as paddles and accessories), in high-performance composite, performance/economical composite, as well as custom wooden constructions.
