The Swain County Recreation Department and Deep Creek Waterpark are excited to announce that the pool officially opens on Friday, May 29th, 2026!

Monday through Saturday
🩱 Adult Lap Swim: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
🌊 Public Swim: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Sunday
Public Swim: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Monday Family Night: 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM

Please note: The water slide will NOT be operational on opening day due to mechanical issues. We expect the slide to reopen later during the pool season and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We appreciate your patience and can’t wait to see everyone at the pool for a fun and safe summer!

Swain County Recreation Department is excited to announce new improvements to our outdoor batting cages! ⚾️✨

These upgrades will help create a better, safer space for athletes in our community to practice and play.

A huge thank you to Harrison Aggregates for their generous donation of gravel that made this project possible—we truly appreciate your support! 🙌

We’d also like to extend a special thank you to Jeremiah Wiggins for the donation of turf for the batting cages—your contribution made a big impact on this project! 👏

Finally, a big thank you to our Maintenance and Recreation staff—Heath Hyatt, Cabbot Cochran, Trent Crisp, and Roger Millsapps—for their hard work and dedication in making these improvements happen!

Swain County Recreation is excited to share that sections of our walking trail are now paved!

This improvement helps make our outdoor spaces more accessible for everyone in our community, as well as visiting families, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience for years to come.

A big thank you to our dedicated Recreation staff who put in the hard work to make this project a reality—we couldn’t have done it without you!

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Ensley Excavating and Paving for completing the work in record time and helping us get ready for the spring and summer season!
