Judo is a Japanese martial art that has been practiced for nearly 130 years. Translated as the "gentle way," Judo is both an Olympic sport and a martial art based on the guiding principles of "jita kyoei" (mutual welfare and benefit) and "seiryoku zenyo" (maximum efficiency, minimum effort). As such, Judo offers a wa
y of self defense, exercise, sport and fitness, not to mention wonderful camaraderie among club members. We are now organizing the club.The club will be open to members with or without prior experience. We are fortunate to have teaching black belts and experienced competitors from the Philadelphia Collegiate Judo Association staff our club. Haverford Judo will be joining other local colleges such as Penn, Drexel, St Joe's, Bryn Mawr and WCU as active members of PCJA.. We will be having an Informational Meeting in the very near future.
