When I was a teenager, my pediatrician compared my build to a Rottweiler - solid, strong, athletic. He knew I loved dogs, so I knew exactly what he meant. Unfortunately. šŸ˜‚

I was 125 lbs, 5’3ā€, and athletic by my senior year of high school. It wasn’t until my 30s that I really started to embrace that build instead of wishing I looked different.

Happy to say I still do. šŸ¤

And now, at 45, I’m leaning into that strength even more.

My next training phase is called Iron & Grace. It’s the 4th block of a 5 month program I created for myself that has helped transform me in more ways than just physically this year.

Five days of intentional lifting, glute-focused work, and training that makes me feel powerful, athletic, and grounded.

I’m not selling it. I’m not promoting it.

I’m just proud of what I’ve built, where I’m going, and the woman I’m becoming along the way.

Iron & Grace.
Strength with intention. Grace with power.

Just show up.
You might surprise yourself.

Alarm went off too soon. 🫠

I was just going to the gym to move.
That’s the bar I set.
Hoped it was a deload week.
It wasn’t.

I was tired.
Didn’t really want to do much.
But I showed up anyway.

Ended up pulling 225 lbs for 5!!!
Personal best. šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

Where are you showing up today?

These last few years, I thought my body had stopped responding…that hormones and age had written the final chapter.

But God doesn’t stop working just because we think the story is over.

He changed something in me. Instead of chasing a certain look, He gave me a desire to care for the body He entrusted to me - to build strength, protect my heart, and be a good steward of what He’s given.

This isn’t about a before-and-after photo. It’s about obedience, stewardship, and grace.

When I stopped striving and started surrendering, something shifted. My body responded. My heart grew stronger. My spirit did too.

At 45, I’m learning that God is still in the business of renewal. There is no expiration date on His ability to restore, strengthen, and make something new.

Strong enough to push. Humble enough to stop.

Strength isn’t always doing more. Sometimes it’s knowing when enough is enough so you can show up strong again tomorrow.

Years ago one of my nutrition clients told me, ā€˜It’s only when I do all the things consistently that things really change.’

Yep. Me too.

Consistency isn’t glamorous, but it’s where transformation actually happens.

Righteousness guards the person of integrity.

But it’s not my strength that keeps me steady - it’s His.

I can push, plan, and pursue. But if He’s not the one leading, I don’t want to move.

There have been seasons when I’ve been stubborn - convinced that what I wanted had to be right simply because I wanted it.

But Proverbs reminds me that rejecting wisdom leads to destruction.

I’m learning that discipline is important, but following God’s direction matters even more.

So I’m learning to push only when He says, ā€œgo.ā€

To trust that His plan is better than my pressure.

To follow His pace instead of forcing my own.

[Proverbs 13:6 & Proverbs 15:32]

Walking down memory lane last night and this photo popped up.

February to November 2015 - a season of transformation, inside and out.

That season didn’t just change my physique; it changed my trajectory.

It taught me discipline, resilience, and the power of alignment - lessons that became the foundation for why I became a nutrition coach and personal trainer.

It wasn’t just about building muscle.
It was about building purpose.

Different season. Same fire.

I’ve learned to see my strength differently.
Not as something I forced… but something God designed into me.
Strength is part of my calling.
Discipline is how I steward it.
Drive is how I’m wired.
And the results I see aren’t random - they’re alignment with His design.
I’m not walking this journey alone.
I’m partnering with the way He created me from the very beginning.
