Energy has been great this week. But results are not the true goal this early in a training block. We are looking for progress.

The most improved athletes are focused on the process during the week. Doing each drill, movement, and exercise with intent.

Week 3 is where being focus and locked in starts separating people.

Focus on effort and ex*****on, the results will show themselves.

Two weeks weeks ago, they walked into this gym knowing they had a goal to be better.

Now, with week three starting, they come into the gym with a plan. They know how to warm up. They know how to prepare for work that will improve their athleticism. They know the movements that make them have:

Faster starts.
Better positions.
Stronger bodies.
More confidence.

Not because of one great workout.

Because they’ve shown up day after day and put the pieces together.

Week 3 has arrived, and things are getting dialed up. And the best part about it is, they’re ready and willing for the challenge.

Week 2 ✅

Put some puzzle pieces together for development.

We built our engines and we learned how each drill, sprint, jump, and lift connects to the bigger picture of athletic development.

The foundation is getting stronger, the movement is getting cleaner, and the process is moving forward.

Now it’s time for Week 3.

Did you get one extra rep?
One extra sprint?
One extra recovery session?
One extra night of quality sleep?

The gap between athletes is rarely created by one massive moment.

It’s built through small actions repeated day after day while others are looking for shortcuts.

Your competition is training.

The question is: did you do enough this week to move ahead?

As we head into Week 2, the intensity starts to rise.

We’ll continue building sprint mechanics, athletic movement skills, strength fundamentals, and coordination while introducing new drills and techniques that challenge athletes to think, move, and perform at a higher level. Development isn’t about staying comfortable. It’s about consistently taking the next step forward.

If your athlete hasn’t joined us yet, there’s still time.

Our Learn to Lift + Train program meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and is designed for athletes who want to build a strong foundation in movement, speed, coordination, strength training, and athletic development. Every session is coached, age-appropriate, and focused on long-term success.

Limited spots remain.

Our older program is full. No coincidence that the older athletes understand where progress is made. They’ve seen the results speak for themselves and are preparing for their upcoming season with clear goals and programming to make it happen.

But imagine you start that process at 8/9/10 instead of 14/15/16. Then foundational progress can’t be substituted.

Week 1 is in the books.

This week wasn’t about perfection. It wasn’t about setting records or becoming a finished product.

It was about showing up.

It was about getting comfortable being uncomfortable.

It was about learning new movements, accepting coaching, pushing through challenges, and taking the first steps toward improvement.

The athletes who make the biggest strides aren’t always the most talented. They’re the ones willing to embrace the process, stack good days together, and keep showing up when things get hard.

This week, our athletes locked in, learned, competed, and started building the foundation for a successful summer.

Week 1 down. A lot more work to do. And that’s exactly where growth happens.

The Learn to Lift + Train program for our younger athletes gives our local 7-11 year old athletes the ability to be coached in movements, technique, and mechanics in the same space that our college prospects refine their skills.

The summer program allows more time in the sessions, so we’re able slow down and focus on the learning when necessary, but turn up the fun and enjoy training.

If you have a youth athlete in the 7-11 year old range and want to get their foundation built for the rest of their athletic career, summer sessions at GISE are the #1 option.

What’s the difference between practice and training?

Practice improves sport skills.

Training improves the athlete.

If an athlete can’t quite make the jump to their next level of skill, they’re often pumped into more skill development lessons, and put on a field to “practice.”

However, they likely need more strength, more speed, and more power in order to continue to improve their skill sets.

The more their athleticism improves, the higher their skillset ceiling becomes. DON’T SKIP THE TRAINING!
