We are so grateful for Ashley Phillips and her daughter, who have been sharing their hearts and creating meaningful spaces for families through our Parent + Tween Yoga Experience.

These workshops are designed to offer parents and tweens an opportunity to slow down, move, connect, laugh, and nurture both family connection and personal self-care. We have loved watching this special offering grow!

As part of our commitment to outreach and community support, 50% of the proceeds from our August Parent + Tween Yoga events were donated to two wonderful local organizations: Small Angels Rescue and Brunswick BEACON.

🐾 Small Angels Rescue provides compassionate care and support for small animals—and for the people who love them.

💚 Brunswick BEACON provides essential food assistance and support to individuals and families throughout our community.

We are grateful for the important work both of these organizations do and are honored to support them. 💛

✨ Our next Parent + Tween Yoga offering is a 4-Week Series!

There’s something special about gathering off the mat with the people who spend so much time holding space for others.

We recently gathered for a summer pool party and potluck with several of our Roots & River teachers…a sweet afternoon of swimming, sharing food, laughing, and simply enjoying one another.

I’m so grateful for this teaching tribe and for the caring, thoughtful guidance they offer through their practices. They hold the space to pause, breathe, move, listen, and reconnect with ourselves.

Thank you for all you bring to Roots & River and to our community. And a special thank you to Sue & Bill Blair for sharing their beautiful historic home with us. 💚

I was so pleasantly surprised to see some familiar faces in class today!

Christy, Karen, and Monica are students in the Yoga Teacher Training collaboration between Branches of Yoga, and Inspired by Yoga. I had the joy of being a guest teacher in their program in the spring, leading a weekend-long introduction to Functional Anatomy.

We had such a wonderful time together, and it was especially sweet to reconnect and catch up today. Thank you for coming in to practice with me!

One of the things I love most about the yoga community is how beautifully interconnected it is, near and far. The paths we cross through yoga have a way of bringing us back together again and again. So grateful for all the wonderful connections it creates. 💕

Ramesh and I had a spontaneous “break down the pose” in the lobby today. It’s a pose he knew he could do with his unique anatomy but needed a step by step to reveal it. We had some good fun.

“Surya yantrasana. Sundial Pose. I just learned how to do this. I'm beginning to learn poses that have several prep steps to get into. My humerus bone hits my acromion process in a very solid stopping point so the binding arm is a challenge. My arm won't go any further back in that position. I can do cow face with no problem, but a true backstroke is impossible for me. I have to put my head all the way forward. There is a really interesting rotation that happens when extending the leg that I've never experienced before. I want to explore that once I get some muscle memory doing this. I got lucky today. We had a very small class, and I was able to explore this with Machelle Lee's assistance.”
