We are spending the night in Darien, GA. When we arrived the boaters in front of us told us to go up to the Local Exchange store. They have a variety of items but because today is their 1st anniversary they have free ice cream and Moon Pies. We had dinner with Steve and Debra who are not loopers but could be some day. Beautiful sunset to end the night.

We spent the last 3 days in Brunswick GA. If you’re looking for a great marina, this is it. They offer free laundry, courtesy bikes, a dog park, discounts at several businesses, and provides beer and wine for social gathering M-W-F. Brunswick has a beautiful downtown district with historic churches. On Friday we met up with Ashley and Scott and went to St. Simons Island. Ashley showed us the tree spirit carvings at various locations.

We went shark tooth hunting in the rain! This was so cool. Thanks to our local guides we were successful.

We spent the weekend in Fernadina Beach on Amelia Island. Ashley and Scott came to visit also. We put the dogs in the wagon and walked all over. This caused a lot of stops because so many wanted to pet them. The history and restored buildings and home were beautiful. The beach was nice and dog friendly. Izzy played in the water for 45 minutes, she has not been this playful in quite a while. This is our last stop in Florida.

People always ask what is the best part of the loop. It’s the people you meet. I got a text this afternoon from Mike and Jeanne on Wind Shift. They were in the area visiting Jeanne’s mother. We traveled in the Great Lakes together. They are gold loopers now and will be traveling south to the Keys for a month or so. Safe travels to them and it was great to see them again.

We spent the day at the Kennedy Space Center. History that we lived. Wes went here for his senior trip. (Now that is history!).

We spent a couple of days in Melbourne and enjoyed the historic downtown area. We had dinner last night with Fellow loopers Steve and Pat on Calypso. This morning we watched the Space X launch before getting underway.

We have spent the weekend in Ft. Pierce. We took the FloridaStories walking tour this morning. We learned that the Crayola Crayon was invented here. Ft. Pierce was a major pineapple producer in the early 1900’s. The East Coast Lumber Co. is the oldest Florida corporation. Both businesses used the railroad to transport goods. We had dinner with fellow loopers New Hope and enjoyed learning that peacocks wander the streets of Ft. Pierce.
