Twenty-five years ago today, 2,977 lives were lost in the attacks on our nation. We remember each of them, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the families who have carried that loss every day since.
We also honor the men and women who stepped forward to serve in the years that followed, and the families who stood behind them.
For our family, remembrance is personal. Today, Ben, Julie, and the Berry family hold close the memory of Ben's brother-in-arms, Colonel Brett Patrick Conaway, U.S. Army. We are proud of his service, and we carry him with us always.
To every service member, veteran, and military family who has sacrificed since that day: thank you. We will never forget.
