The Brownsville Bike Barn is an initiative to support and promote bicycling in Brownsville. Our operation began with a donation of bicycles from the Austin Yellow Bike Project that were in need of repairs. The City of Brownsville Parks and Recreation Department provided the location and contributed bike parts and tools to get the program going. Run 100% by volunteers and community support, the Bik

e Barn offers an Earn-A-Bike program where people of all ages can complete 15 hours of volunteer service and earn one of our repaired bicycles. Through this program we aim to teach the basics of bicycle repair and the value of sweat equity. For those whom own bicycles already, the Bike Barn offers small repairs for donations, whether it is cash, parts, tools, or their time. Currently we are in the process of developing a Heritage Garden Habitiat which will be filled with indigenous plants that provide food and habitat to birds and butterflies. There will also be herbs, fruit trees, berry bushes, and two beds with organic veggies to model the community gardens around the city.

📢Hey Brownsville! Ready to get outside, hang with friends, and make a huge difference?

🙌Join us for the Oliveira Park Workday this Saturday, November 8th! It's the perfect chance for students, clubs, and anyone who wants to give back and have a little fun doing it. We're teaming up to clean up the park and spread fresh mulch, making the playground area safe and awesome for everyone!

Why show up?

📃✅Service Hours Done: Easily knock out your required volunteer hours—it all counts!

💪Total Flexibility: We're working 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, but you don't need to stay the whole time. Come when you can!

Yesterday was a fantastic day spent with CycloBia! We had a blast with the After-School kids from Parks and Recreation as they worked on their bikes, and we made sure everyone left with a brand-new, safe helmet. Don't forget, the Bike Barn is open every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. If you have any bikes to spare, we welcome donations, and you can conveniently drop them off at 624 Madison, with the entrance located on 6th Street. Join us in supporting this wonderful cause! 🚲🌟
