It’s been an adventure here at Richmond Raceway. We have 1 car that has a bent frame, but managed to put our heavy 160 car into the A main after transferring from the B main! You can watch Weston’s race LIVE right now on Flo Racing, he’s race 68 and starts 10th!

Kokomo Quarter Midget Club, it’s been awhile! 2 years since we’ve been back. We wanted to get some practice in before the next Midwest Thunder race and also get ready for the NASCAR Youth Series in Richmond, Virginia coming up next week. Weston raced in Heavy 160 and Unrestricted Animal and won all of his heat races and features! 🧹🏁 Think we left with some good notes to take on and some awesome new hardware. Also, Weston brought to our attention these are his first 2 wins of the season! 🤯

We are racing at Kalamazoo this weekend for the NASCAR Youth Series national race, it is also the home track of NASCAR driver Carson Hocevar when he raced quarter midgets. Carson was nice enough to come out today to talk with the kids and walk with them out on the race track, and Weston got his picture taken with him!

Yesterday started out ROUGH, but ended on a great note! We attended the 3rd round of the Midwest Thunder .25 Quarter Midget Racing Series at Miami Valley in Xenia, Ohio. Both heat races for light 160 and light world formula were rough, landing him starting last in the 12 car feature in the light world and starting 9th in the B main for light 160. Ended up finishing 11th in the light world feature, still learning throttle control in that class but he was improving a lot towards the end of the race! The 160 B main was pretty much a disaster from the start where Weston’s chain popped off on the 1st lap, flying through traffic to get taken out and getting a flat tire, and the race getting timed out while in 5th place leaving him as the X car for the feature. He ended up going out for the feature due to another driver not being able to start the race due to a wreck before the race even started, and Weston drove the wheels off his car landing him a 3rd place finish after starting in the back and coming from the B main! We were so thrilled it felt like a win for us especially going into the race not knowing if he’d even make it out there! We can’t thank everyone enough for all of their help this weekend in the pits getting Weston’s car fixed to finish the lower main and to Scott Whaley for lending us their RR tire! A huge thank you to the Nervo family at NC CHASSIS COMPANY for all of the set up help on Westons cars!

Today, Weston got the opportunity to help pickle this 1968 Indy car and learning to change the spark plugs. A lot of history with this car that his Great Great Grandfather Fred Gerhardt built, and now his Papa has completely restored. What a special way to keep a piece of family history—and a passion for racing—alive for the next generation. 🏁🏎️

Brickyard week is officially over. We got our first NASCAR Youth Series heat race win and locked one of our cars into the A main. That’s an accomplishment in itself when competing against 60 other cars in 1 class! It was an incredible week with highs and lows. Didn’t get the car set up quite right for the light 160 A main today, but Weston still did a great job with what he had! We can’t thank everyone enough for all of the support:: Western Speed Racing, Gigi and Papa for letting us camp out in the motorhome at the speedway this week, NC CHASSIS COMPANY for all of the amazing help on the cars, Indy Metal Finishing, Inc., Raptor Racing Engines, Ready Set Groom LLC, Vaughn Orthodontics

What a day!! Finishing it off with our 1st National Heat race win in Light 160 with a LAST LAP PASS! 🏁 One of the best parts of that race was all of the clean racing while battling for their spots!
