I’m doing an Ironman 😱 -

Yes, you read that right. I reflected on what I want from my fitness, and I know eventually I aspire to complete an Ironman. So, I looked into what I needed to do to get started. I found out what was included in completion of an Ironman: 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking, and 26.2 miles of....

🕐Taking the time and energy to plan out my schedule saves me a tremendous amount of time later. I don’t have to think as hard, make as many decisions, I question myself less, and I get more done in less time. I also schedule more fun and relaxation in my life by simply taking 90 minutes per week to get my calendar solidified.📝

If you would like to learn more about my calendaring practice, comment “time” below.🕐

It is often the first question asked and answered in social interactions: “What do you do?” We define ourselves and others by what we do for a living. It is fantastic to have one portion of our identity figured out with a simple sentence like, “I’m a mindset coach.” My identity can rest ni...

🦸Confidence is a constant practice🦸

I have had self-confidence issues over nearly every part of who I am:

I talk too much, my body doesn’t look the way I want it to, I choose the wrong words, etc.

The truth is that confidence is a practice just like any other skill. The more we practice, the better we get. When I am willing to stut my stuff in my bikini 👙,be the loud and excited personality I am📣, or share my vulnerabilities on facebook, I am practicing confidence.

The reason I choose to be a mindset coach is to share all of the discomfort I have passed through so that others can find hope in their own situations. ✨

I have eaten cold eggs so many times that I’m actually bothered by eating warm eggs. When my kids were younger, it felt necessary to address all of their needs first. The truth is that I still struggle to have the people I love wait for something they need or want. So, I often still eat my food cold. While there is some merit to put others’ needs before your own, it is substantially less merit than is widely accepted.

When we care for ourselves, we give others permission to do the same. When we take time to rest, we show the people we love that rest is important. When we take a break from our work, we show others that recharging is important. When we enjoy ourselves with activities we love, we send the message that individuality is valuable.

Showing up for ourselves strengthens how we show up for others.

"It's not that we spend five days looking forward to just two. It's that most people do what they enjoy most on those two days. Imagine living a life where everyday are your Saturdays and Sundays. Make everyday your weekend."

Sometimes I feel like I missed the fun. I think that my chance to have that moment with my
kids, husband, friends, passed me by. I couldn’t take the time when the opportunity presented itself, and now I’m not part of the fun.

The most prevalent example is my son inviting me on the trampoline. My default is either “no” or “yes” but only out of obligation (I’m often counting down the minutes). Then later I realize there was a real opportunity to enjoy
myself. I’ve learned three tactics to chill out and enjoy the fun stuff:

1. Let go of the “have to’s”- this included things like making dinner AND jumping on the trampoline. I would love to delay dinner a bit and have a ball OR I would love to make time after dinner. I make the conscious choice to enjoy myself.

2. Allow myself to do it, even if it seems tiring. Often the time on the trampoline is fun and restorative more so than watching TV would be.

3. Honor the need for a break before engaging in the fun stuff, but make sure it is just a break. I often limit it to 15 minutes to honor the quality time that I am engaging in.

If something in this post rings true for you, comment “fun.”
