I’d like to introduce our new battery partner. We had been searching for a good quality battery to offer with our products for a while, and we think this is it. Of course right away some of the existing pedicab crowd will blow these off as too expensive and not worth it. I know there’s some cheaper batteries out there, and you’re welcome to buy whatever you want on your own. But we don’t want to peddle crappy products that might cause a fire and don’t have any real warranty. Our rep assured us that they’ve locked in pricing at least through this year, so our government’s tariffs won’t change this price at least. And that high price you ask? One 48v 30Ah battery is $999, to keep warranty valid you must only use an approved charger, it’s a 13.5A output for $375. Read a little more from them to convince you why they’re actually worth it.
1) American engineered, American labor: the only offshore aspect of these batteries are the Li cells, which are quality checked in our factory in Santa Fe Springs, CA before assembly. Every other aspect of these batteries are American, including the Battery Management System.
2) Each battery is rated for 30 Ah and performs at 34 Ah - you will get the range that you are promised.
3)WARRANTY: 8 years total, 6 years full replacement with 2 years prorated
4) Four safety redundancy features: three included in the BMS, one physical fuse
5) Made of cylindrical cells and contains copper bus bar for improved efficiency, less heat generation, and potentially longer battery life
6) BMS - records all activity with the battery that can be read with a service cable to read each individual cell, charging habits, auto sleep functions, temperature protection, current and voltage protection, and even short circuit protection
7) IP67 Environmental Protection class - highest classification you will see in the lithium motive battery world today
(The only thing that I really hate is that they printed the labels “lithium ion”, but these are in fact lithium iron phosphate)
