Hernando Wrestling Club Hernando Wrestling Club The Hernando Wrestling Club was founded to provide training and competitive wrestling opportunities for the youth of Hernando County.

The Hernando Wrestling Club focuses on providing sound instruction on wrestling skills and technique in a fun competitive environment. We pride ourselves on a positive atmosphere where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Our HWC boys had a great time at the Southern Hospitality Camp in Georgia this week. Congratulations to Riley Darby for winning the tournament on the final day of camp. Thank you so much to Coach Brian and Coach Glassbrenner for taking the boys. Great job Riley, Leonard, Kyle, Preston and Carsten (not pictured).

After 4 days of wrestling, we got to have some fun in the Tennessee mountains. We took a ride on the Incline Railway up Lookout Mountain which is one of the steepest passenger railways in the world. We also visited Ruby Falls which is the tallest underground waterfall open to the public in the United States! Definitely a fun day in Tennessee with some great people.

CAMP SZN.

Our club kids are chasing opportunities to get better this offseason. A few of our girls are in Tennessee at a camp. Some of our boys traveled to Georgia for the Southern Hospitality Camp .wrestling. Rayne and Rory went to south Florida for a .bassett clinic. The Browning boys went to the camp. Proud of these kids for their commitment to get better this summer!

WRESTLERS ARE BUILT DIFFERENT.

My Dad (68 years old) who was a former Hernando wrestling coach and my Uncle Gordon (70 years old) who is in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame just finished hiking 50 miles on the Appalachian Trail. I can promise you the lessons they learned at a young age from the sport of wrestling have carried over into their adult lives. These are two tough “old” guys who continue to lead by example. So what are your excuses?
