Double Points Matches!
Matches will start at 8am on their respective dates. Registration will be as always and through an email sent one week prior to the scheduled match. You MUST reply to the specific registration email to be included on the competitor/match list.
Tournaments will be “6” card matches (instead of our normal 4 cards).
All matches are open to the public and there will be shooters from outside our area and other clubs joining the competition.

Cost for the tournament matches are $20 for HSC members, $30 for non-members. (Juniors 7-17 are FREE)
You MUST sign up as an ARA member (this is FREE) to compete. All score reporting for national, state, and club rankings will be with your ARA number.
FACTORY CLASS shooters need to review and comply with the RULES and restrictions found on the ARA website (AmericanRimfire.com).
All match information will be posted on our “Club” page.
Go to ARA main webpage, select “Clubs” tab, scroll down to “Florida” and then select “Hernando Sportsman’s Club”.

GPA IS COMING TO HERNANDO!

Yes, the Galactic Pistol Alliance will be coming to the Hernando Sportsman's Club on Saturday, February 21st. This match will replace our IDPA match normally held then.

GPA is an Action Pistol style match, much like IDPA, but with less restrictive rules. The rulebook can be found at www.galacticpistolalliance.com. Come see why they say "Half the Rules, Twice the Fun!"
All skill levels are welcome. We will have 5 stages, so you will need to bring a pistol with holster, 2-3 magazines (enough for 24 rounds) with holder, and about 150 rounds of ammunition.

You must arrive early enough to make the 8:45 am Safety Brief so that we can start at 9 am. Cost is $15 for Hernando Club members, and $20 for non-members. Please contact the Match Director, Kurt Reichert, if you are interested and he will send you the link to sign up. Please email Kurt at [email protected]. Spots are limited, so don't wait.

We are looking for volunteer Range Officers for our Open Range.
Requirements for the position are to be a club member for
a minimum of one year, be a certified NRA Range Officer or willing to take our NRA range officer class, and available to be

You do not have to have a machine gun to participate. All rifles are welcome to have a chance to shoot out some old cars.

The club hosts a machine gun shoot twice a year, on the last Sunday in February, and in honor of the 4th of July of each year.

2026 dates include: February 22 and July 4th

This events starts at 9:30am on our 200-yard range.

Targets include old cars and trucks, old washers, dryers, water heaters, and many other assorted items.
Our range staff likes to get creative in selecting various targets each year.
No incendiary or tracer ammo allowed.
Entry fee for shooters : $25. Must be 18 years old to shoot.
Spectators admission fee: $2, and children under age 15 are free with adult.
