VSP Bunker Drill ⛳️

Here’s a look at my new favorite bunker drill. You’ll see I’m using a slant board in the hitting zone to improve my club delivery on bunker shots.

Give it a try and let me know if it helps⛳️

I love working on my short game, especially in Whistler. What a magical place.

Here’s what I’m focusing on:

• Trajectory control
• A full release on bunker shots
• Rhythm and timing

What are you working on in your short game?

Throwback Thursday ⛳🇪🇸

This clip takes me back to a round I played in Marbella, Spain, where I had to rely on one of my favorite recovery shots—the Backward Chip.

Golf isn’t always pretty. Recovery shots are a huge part of scoring when you find yourself out of position, and this is one every golfer should have in their bag.

The Backward Chip is a simple stroke that can save you when there’s no room for a normal backswing.

To play it, make a smooth back-and-through motion, much like a putting stroke. Keep the shaft as upright as possible, take a few practice swings, and throughout the stroke, keep your back facing the target. Resist the urge to rotate through as you would on a normal chip.

You’ll be amazed how a short, gentle swing can get the club on the ball, get you back in play, and save valuable strokes when you’re in trouble.

Have you ever had to use a shot like this to escape trouble? Let me know in the comments!

Huge congratulations to Ethan Evans on his verbal commitment to Florida State University!

I’ve had the privilege of working with Ethan since 2021, and it’s been incredible to watch his growth both on and off the course. His progress is a direct reflection of the work he’s put in over the years. Ethan is an extremely hard worker, an outstanding student, and an even better person.

We had another great session today working on his game and discussing the areas we need to continue improving to help him achieve his performance goals. That’s what makes Ethan special—he understands that today’s commitment is a tremendous accomplishment, but he’s still focused on getting better every day.

This opportunity is well deserved, and I have no doubt he’ll continue to accomplish great things at Florida State. The Seminoles are getting an exceptional golfer and an even better young man.

Congratulations, Ethan! Looking forward to seeing all that’s ahead.

A huge congratulations to my good friend Pat Coyner on his recent success with Wyndham Clark. Pat is a tremendous coach and an even better person. Watching Wyndham capture the 2026 U.S. Open was incredibly exciting, but more importantly, it was a truly life-changing day for Pat and his family. Great going, Pat!

Greenside pitching is one of my favorite shots to play-especially on firm, fast greens.

That’s where you really learn the importance of trajectory control and landing angle to get the ball close to the hole. 🎯
