God is so incredibly good!!! What an amazing weekend of action packed life! If I didn’t document, I would forget all the cool moments.
Thank you so much Syracuse for always showing me so much love. Whenever I return I feel home. Seeing all those I love really fills my soul. In honor of my coach mentor and pops, I had to bring my team up from Florida to compete in NYS fairgrounds fights.
So surreal seeing US vs. Canada. I remember competing and winning by KO for USA back in 2003. Watching all the kids competing really brought me great memories. It was an honor to receive Rays boxing mitt, that I used to hit when I was a kid, signed by my pops. Now there will be one here at the Westside and the other in Springhill at my gym.
Growing up in Rays program really changed my life. I went from an at risk youth, with no real direction, to an educated Army Veteran, successful businessman, family man, and productive member of society. When so much has been given to you, you must continue to pay it forward. That is exactly what we are doing. My kids all fought fantastic. In my boxing opinion and many others we went 2-2 but all four grew and got better. The boys not only competed, but got a chance to leave Florida for the first time and experience upstate NY. They enjoyed the Great NYS fair. The Destiny USA Mall, the greatest local Italian Cafe Express, Apple picking and experiencing mother nature like no other, Upstate NY in the fall, last but certainly not least, they got to taste the very best authentic Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 home cooking and love from mis Suegros lindos!!! 😘🍂🍎♥️🥊🇺🇸🇮🇹🇵🇷
Coaching is 10% making great fighters, and 90% making great people. If you are not in the game for that, then you miss the whole point of working with youth. As always all glory to the most High God Jehovah in Jesus Mighty name Amen!!!
