Time flew...seems like only yesterday he was born. It is a long wait to get a horse prepared for under saddle work. I believe that lightly starting them at 4 is appropriate and then a little more under saddle work at 5. He now stands at 13.1h. Will be interesting to see if this changes in a few months. There is a divergence of opinion on the appropriate age to start riding a horse and when they are full grown.

Bleu turned 3 in March. He has started under saddle, just walking around for about 15 minutes. Despite the look on his face, I think he is enjoying it. He is almost as big as Squeaker, his half brother and they get along great together, sharing hay. Pretty sure that Bleu tries to push him out of the way though.

Bleu's first time being lunged in a bridle. I believe horses tell you when they are ready to do something more; and that if you listen, you will time it correctly and not too soon. This one is very nicely put together and an excellent mover with power coming from behind. Will take it slow though.

Happy 2nd birthday to this little guy, "Bleu", A Star to Follow. How time flies by so quickly. He was so little, I guess I didn't realize it at the time. I remember that night, 12:30 am Ruby went into labor- my first red bag delivery.

Just a few recent photos of Bleu. He will turn 2 in March. He has the disposition of a therapy pony- very sweet, non-reactive and intuitive. He will come up to you, put his tiny nose into your shirt, close his eyes and rest his head there. He could be part unicorn.

How is "Bleu"? (nicknamed for his crystal blue eyes)
Bleu is doing well, growing almost as tall as his dam. Did you know that Bleu was named after the Christmas Star? His registered name is "A Star to Follow" because the Christmas Star was a symbol of hope for mankind to follow to find a very special baby lying in a manger.
In the year (2019) of Bleu's birth the world had lost hope due to so many tragic events/deaths due to the virus. The name A Star to Follow is a reminder to never lose hope and to never give up.
He is a special little guy (not so little anymore). Prior to his birth that night, I saw a shooting star. Afterwards, he began his descent, but it was a red bag delivery and he stopped breathing. Luckily, with some prompt action, I was able to revive him.
He has the making of a calming, therapeutic type pony with a special knack for picking up on your emotional needs. Watch his baby video:
