D23 race 7&8 took us too Motocity Raceway in Staples. Rain Friday night into Saturday morning caused them to make some adjustments to get us out racing. We didn’t get our normal practices but with some great track maintenance they were able to get us out for a few practice laps before the gate drops started.
It was a rough day Saturday. I picked up a rock in practice and locked up my front right tire. I drove off and Dad got it out so I could get back out there. We came into the weekend with solid front brakes finally!!! But that rock changed it. Bent the rotor and caliper mount. We robbed a hub off of the 450 for the rotor and changed calipers. Brakes just were not the same and were very weak.
First moto, 2nd or 3rd lap I picked up another rock in the front left tire taking an inside split lane, locking up the tire and sending me straight into the berm. I was running second but by the time I got the rock out and going it put me last.
2nd moto came back swinging and took a 2nd for a 3rd overall for Saturday.
Sunday went a little better, still no front brakes but didn’t find any rocks 😆. I took 2nd in both motos for a 2nd overall.
I also raced the invincible trx90 with Ethan! That was a blast except that last corner 😂
Was a great weekend seeing my racing friends and hanging out.

Ready to go but Mother Nature says not yet 🤦‍♂️. Hoping to get on the track by noon. Looks like Motocity Raceway is out doing track maintenance now to help get the water off.

5th & 6th races landed us at BCMX in Cambridge Mn. After more repairs we thought we had the braking issue fixed but it showed itself back up right after practice.

Sat I went 2 & 2 for a second overall.
Sunday I had a 2 & 3 finish for a 3rd overall.

It was 103 degrees on Sunday and my motor was getting hot on the second race so I slowed her down a bit on the last lap losing the 2nd spot.

Dad & I are going to tear into the brake issue again and see what we can do with it. I appreciate all the help from my sponsors with help and parts while we narrow this down!

Next up is Staples in 5 weeks so I see lots of testing coming up!
