It’s hard to put into words what Derby City Legends Wrestling has meant to all of us. This wasn’t just a team—it was a family. A place where hard work, grit, and heart came together day after day on the mat. We’ve shared wins that lifted us up and losses that made us stronger. Through it all, we built something special—something that goes far beyond wrestling.

To every athlete, coach, and family member: thank you. Thank you for the early mornings, the long practices, the sacrifices, and the belief in one another. Thank you for showing what resilience really looks like, and for proving that strength isn’t just physical—it’s in the way we support, encourage, and stand by each other.

Even though the doors are closing, May 1, 2026, what we created here doesn’t end. The lessons, the friendships, the memories—they go with us wherever we go next. Derby City Legends will always be a part of who we are.

So this isn’t really goodbye—it’s just the end of one chapter. Keep pushing, keep believing, and keep carrying that Legends spirit with you.

As we look back on the 2025–2026 wrestling season, one word stands out above everything else—resilience.

This season was not just about wins and losses. It was about the strength shown every single day on the mat. Wrestling is one of the toughest sports there is. It demands discipline, heart, sacrifice, and the willingness to push yourself even when you’re tired, sore, or facing someone stronger.

Our wrestlers showed that strength all season long.

There were incredible moments of victory—hands raised, hard-earned medals, and matches where our athletes showed their skill, determination, and preparation. Those wins were the result of hours of practice, sweat, and believing in themselves and in their teammates.

But what really defines a wrestler is not just how they win—it’s how they respond when things don’t go their way.

There were losses this season. Tough matches. Moments where the scoreboard didn’t reflect the effort that was given. But every loss became a lesson. Every setback became fuel. Our wrestlers got back up, shook hands, and stepped back on the mat ready to work harder.

That’s what resilience looks like.

Strength is not only measured in takedowns, pins, or championships. It’s measured in the courage to keep showing up. It’s measured in the determination to improve, to support your teammates, and to represent your team with pride.

This season we saw athletes grow—not just as wrestlers, but as young men and women with character, grit, and heart.

To the wrestlers: be proud of the work you put in. The early mornings, the long practices, the tough matches—you earned every moment of this season.

To the coaches: thank you for pushing these athletes to be their best and teaching them lessons that go far beyond wrestling.

And to the families and supporters: your encouragement, rides to practice, and cheering in the stands helped make this journey possible.

The 2025–2026 season showed us that success isn’t just about the final score. It’s about the effort, the resilience, and the strength we build along the way.

And if this season proved anything, it’s that this team has the heart of champions.
