Just because a practice involves the body doesn’t automatically make it somatic.

You can stretch.
You can breathe.
You can move.
You can hold a yoga pose.

But the somatic part is what happens when you bring your awareness inside the body.

✨ Tracking sensations is somatic.
✨ Noticing subtle shifts and changes is somatic.
✨ Using your senses to connect with your internal experience is somatic.
✨ Becoming curious about what your nervous system is communicating is somatic.
✨ Using breath, yoga, sound, or movement while staying connected to what you feel inside is somatic.

Somatics isn’t just about DOING something with the body. It’s about BEING WITH the body.

It’s about listening to the body. It’s about feeling the feelings. It’s about noticing what you notice.

Instead of asking, “Am I doing this right?”
Try asking: “What am I noticing right now?”

That simple shift—from doing the post or making the movement to experiencing yourself within it—is where deeper body awareness begins. 🤍

For years, I learned that it was safer to stay quiet.

Don’t say too much.
Don’t upset anyone.
Don’t make it a bigger deal.
Don’t be difficult.
Don’t trust what you feel.

When you’ve been shut down, dismissed, criticized, or made to question yourself long enough, you don’t just stop speaking up.

You start disconnecting from your own voice.

You second-guess what you know.
You over-explain your decisions.
You look to other people for permission.
You shrink to keep the peace.

Finding your voice again isn’t always about becoming louder.

Sometimes it’s simply learning to trust the quiet voice inside you that says:

This doesn’t feel right.
I don’t want this.
I deserve more.
This is what I need.
This is who I am.

And then having the courage to listen to her.

Your voice was never gone.

It was protecting itself until it felt safe enough to be heard again. 🤍

Healing is learning that it’s safe to take up space, tell the truth, have needs, set boundaries, and choose yourself.

And little by little, your whisper becomes your voice.

Most of us were taught to trust our thoughts more than our bodies.

So your body whispers:
“I’m exhausted.”
Your mind says:
“Just push through.”

Your body says:
“Something feels off.”
Your mind says:
“You’re overthinking it.”

Your body says:
“I need rest.”
Your mind says:
“You’ve got too much to do.”

Here’s a simple practice I teach:

✨ Pause. Name. Ask.

1. Pause before reacting.
2. Name what you’re noticing in your body. (Tight chest? Heavy shoulders? Butterflies? Warmth?)
3. Ask: “If my body could speak right now, what would it want me to know?”

Your body isn’t trying to sabotage you.
It’s trying to communicate.

The goal isn’t to ignore your mind—it’s to let your mind and body become partners instead of competitors.

The more you learn the language of your body, the easier it becomes to lead your life from self-trust instead of survival.

You’re not unmotivated. You’re running on past conditioning and a dysregulated nervous system.
