Ancestor Cards
My journey with circle keeping began at the women’s theological Center, guided by Donna Bivins and Meck Groot. Through healing retreats and vibrant events, I discovered the profound power of spirit and the vital importance of spiritual healing. In those sacred spaces, I felt an undeniable connection to something greater than myself, seeing reflections of myself in others and forging deep, vulnerable bonds that continue to reside in my heart.
We always start our gatherings with Ancestor Cards. These cards are more than reflection tools; they are gateways to messages from our ancestors. Time and again, whenever I bring them into community, they reveal truths, foster meaningful connections, and feel like gifts of spirit. Created by the Women’s Theological Center, these cards are thoughtfully designed to resonate culturally with the communities they serve.
I’ve cherished my set of ancestor cards for over 20 years. They’ve been a grounding presence in circles, meetings, and meditations, offering powerful gifts and reminders from those who came before us. I’ve used them countless times—at retreats with the UFE staff and board in North Carolina, and just last week during my healing circle at the E& I summit.
I am deeply grateful, humbled, and honored to practice this essential ritual of grounding and connection.
Remember: healing is possible, and it’s something we can do together, not in isolation.
