Julie Boyer is a Certified Co-Active Coach and Trauma Informed Certified Coach who helps creatives and sensitives (or just passionate people) align their work to what they really want, so they can realize their true potential. Julie is a Career Coach (Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, Trauma Informed Certified Coach) who works with people who are compelled to create change in the world. Thro

ugh her private coaching and programs, she helps clients free themselves from the frustration of a poor job-fit and uncover their true purpose, so they can do work that means something to them. and become an international leader in the activist community

>>Going from stuck in a job with a limited future and a pattern of failed interviews to landing their dream job

>>Successfully moving from an administrative role to leading a change-initiative within the same company

Having spent decades searching for work that both fulfilled her and matched her potential, finally Julie encountered a life crisis which made her realize her calling. The journey she began as a result demystified for her what it takes to know your purpose, overcome confusion and doubt, and create the work you dream of. Julie believes that successfully creating change for ourselves is the first step to knowing how to also lead change in the world. Her mission is to awaken everyone longing for more fulfillment and satisfaction at work to the fact that change is possible. A crisis of boredom and disillusionment is the perfect place to start that change. An author, coach, leader and artist, Julie lives in Boston, regularly walking the nearby woods with her goofball puppy.

Catching up on posting recent newsletters: this one comes with an offer from a previous client. It's all about how that feeling of 'hitting a wall' may actually indicate that a new direction is in order, one that honors who you really are...

What if it’s not the sign of something going wrong, but something being righted… a way in which you life’s course is correcting itself, to stay in alignment with your true potential?

Last week's newsletter on trauma informed coaching, shared healing, and following your calling. Enjoy!

You may notice that the eclipse has found its way into my sunny header. Somehow it belongs there. I think it's a little more honest to include shadow, when picturing light.

I’m embarking on a new project, and I’d like to invite you! Starting next month, I’ll be assisting to lead Transparent Communication practice groups.

Created by Thomas Hubl, this practice provides space for personal and spiritual growth, connection and community. Transparent Communication is fundamentally relational, and incredibly practical. I’ve participated in this practice for over a year and I can attest to experiencing increased emotional integration, connection, personal insight, and hope for our collective future.

For those in the Boston area, would you like to join us?

“I have something I need to hear myself say. Will you please listen?”

If given the chance to become more of who we really are- while also holding space for others to do the same- what greater freedom might we experience?

We invite you to a relational and personal development practice, called Transparent Communication. Created by mystic and collective trauma healing expert Thomas Hubl, Transparent Communication is a form of meditation in relationship with others. In this space, we consciously create safety and room to know ourselves, feel the presence of our being, and share our experience around a given topic with others. Taking turns speaking and listening, we have the opportunity to open- with deep compassion- to the emergence of our own wisdom, and to be witness to the emerging wisdom of others.

This is a facilitated space, led by a trained leader and assistant. As facilitators, we will offer clear direction and guidance; those just beginning and those seasoned in the practice are welcome. We find that sustained practice in this work offers personal insights, integration and new openings in how we relate to others over time. Through our trained instruction, we note: This is not a therapy group. It’s not a healing group, although healing may happen. This is a space for channeling one’s intention to expand and grow in relationship to others into a practical, spiritual practice. In this practice, we are all on the learning path.

Facilitators: Joe Snowdon with Julie Boyer assisting.

My newsletter is a place where I share stories and insights to help you stay aligned in your career, and connect to your creative leadership abilities.

I offer helpful guidance, while also keeping it light.

Is your creativity calling you this summer? You may enjoy this:

Last week I started reading Social Physics, a book by Alex Pentland. It offered insights that got me thinking about my creative clients, who love to innovate.

Whatever you’re wanting to grow in your life, you can grow.

There will be a voice in your head that will tell you that it’s impossible, or unlikely, or out of the cards for you.

Meanwhile, your longing will increase.

Listen to that longing.

It is the seed of life.

We are here to grow things: love, connection, discovery, new life, new ways of seeing, new ways of being.

You could long for more authentic connection in your workplace. You could long for independence, and more time with your family. You could long for the world to see the beauty you see, when you’re at your favorite park.

When you feel longing, something in you is wanting to be created. It’s worth it to pay close attention to this longing, and treat it like a wise sage.

I’ve never worked with anyone whose longing didn’t come from a deep well of love.

Your longing is likely something we all need, too. For you to bring it to life and show us what is possible would be a gift.

What do you long for?

Our lives can look one way on the outside, and feel another on the inside.

It’s not uncommon to be a perfectly good- high- achiever, but feel a hollow sense of “What am I really accomplishing?”.

We want to know our work matters, that we matter.

And we want this at a fundamental level. Like a I’m-doing-what-I’m-meant-to-do-on-this-earth kind of level.

We crave that alignment. But how do we get it?

First, know that somewhere in you knows your purpose. Often, the disconnect is in how you’re thinking of it.

I once had a client whose purpose was to *make people feel wonderful*. That’s it. This is what brought her the most expansive joy. Imagine where you could make a difference with a purpose like that!

-Planning your daughter’s birthday party
-Wining and dining customers/clients
-Talking to customer service while working out a problem
-Talking to your neighbor, while doing yard work
-Being a wedding planner
-Being a graphic designer, designing wedding invitations
-Being a minister, helping people celebrate life’s most precious moments
-Being owner of a B&B, greeting travelers
-Being a manager who champions her team members

(Just thinking of these possibilities starts to make me feel wonderful!)

Don’t underestimate what brings you joy. It’s a great place to find your purpose.

On Sunday, I’ll be talking a whole lot more about Finding Your Purpose this weekend, to an audience of individuals who have experienced repeated harassment, bullying or targeted abuse at work. If this sounds like you, I’d love to see you there!
