Two great organizations coming together to provide meaningful youth programming. We are excited to partner yet again this year!

⛳ We’re excited to bring Smart Swings for our Kindergarten–5th grade members this fall!

In partnership with The First Tee of South Dakota - Brookings, this free program combines golf, learning, and life skills in a fun, hands-on way. 💙

📍 Location: Boys & Girls Club of Brookings
📅 Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays (Oct. 21 – Dec. 4)
🕓 Time: 4:15–5:30 PM
💰 Cost: Free

Members will:
🏌️ Practice golf techniques and use our golf simulator
📚 Get help with math and reading homework
🌟 Learn life skills like positivity, goal-setting, and decision-making — both on and off the course

As opportunities on the golf course expand, so do opportunities for our members’ futures!

What a Summer at First Tee! ⛳️🌞

From June through the end of July, our golfers showed up twice a week, worked hard, and had a ton of fun! We practiced swing techniques, dialed in our putting, and learned the ins and outs of golf etiquette.

We wrapped up the season with an exciting end-of-the-year scramble tournament, complete with pin prizes and Gatorades for the teams with the lowest scores. 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️🏆

It’s been an awesome summer, and we’re so proud of the progress everyone made both on and off the course. Thank you to all the players, parents, and staff who helped make it such a great experience.

We can’t wait to see everyone back next year! 💚

Parents, just a heads-up — this is the last week of First Tee golf! Let’s finish strong! 💪

We’ll also have a Lost & Found table set out each morning, so be sure to check for any missing items your golfer may have left behind throughout the season.

The 10:30 session of First Tee today will be canceled due to lightning. I think I was able to connect with most parents/guardians during the drop off times, but if not please come pick up your golfer. We are all lin shelter in the cart shed.

Get access to the regulation course at Edgebrook, with guided instruction to help apply your skills in real play.

Participants can apply for college scholarships, attend leadership events, and connect with peers from around the country.

Stay involved, keep developing, and take advantage of all that First Tee has to offer.

☁️ A little rain didn’t stop us! 🌧️⛳️
Today’s First Tee session was all about pushing through the misty weather with positive attitudes and lots of courage — one of our core values this week, along with the importance of friendship. 💛

Even in the cooler, damp conditions, our young golfers gave it their all. We practiced chipping, played fun putting games, and got some solid swings in with our drivers on the range. 🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️

This group continues to show what it means to grow on and off the course. Rain or shine, they bring the energy!

🌈 What a beautiful way to start our day at Edgebrook Golf Course — with a rainbow over one of our amazing First Tee groups! ⛳️

Today’s session was all about perseverance. Whether we were chipping, putting, or driving on the range; these young golfers showed great focus, determination, and positive energy.

We’re so proud of their effort and growth both on and off the course. Keep it up, team! 💪🏽🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️

⛳️ It was a hot day out on the Rabbit Patch at Brookings Country Club, but that didn’t slow down our First Tee participants! 🔥☀️

We stayed active and focused while practicing balance and control, with skills like pitching, chipping, and a fun relay putting activity that brought out some awesome teamwork.

Today’s core value was Respect—and we saw it in every high-five, encouraging word, and moment of focus. 💚
