Congratulations to Mason Frank, 37, of Papillion, Neb., who set the course record in the Brookings Half Marathon with a time of 1:07:16 (5:08 pace), beating the 2009 time of Bret Fransen by more than one minute.

Also a big congratulations to Matt Buenger, who directed the Brookings Marathon for his first time. Prairie Striders appreciates everyone who came out to cheer, volunteer or participate.

We look forward to your continued support in future races, including the Oct. 24 Bob Bartling Hobo Day 5K.

Race directors Dave Graves and Brett Pettigrew want to give a big thank you to the generous sponsors, dozens of hardworking volunteers and the 216 people who registered to participant in the oldest road race in the Midwest.

It's Jack 15 week. Saturday is the big day. Registration to date: 101 individuals, four 2x7.6-mile relay teams, three 3x5-mile relay teams, twelve 5x3-mile relay teams. 173 participants.
BUT — there is still room for a few more. Online registration closes midnight Thursday.
It's more convenient and cheaper than in-person sign-up Friday and Saturday.
