On a chilly morning February 2017 , Joseph Corrar pulled into the parking lot of Carmans River Canoe & Kayak II

Brad DeSantis was out front of CRK with a 2x4s on his shoulder preparing the shop for the coming spring.

Joe introduced himself to Brad , sharing with him a passion for travel, adventure , paddling, nature and wildlife.

Brad shared Joe's vision, exactly.

Several weeks later Brad introduced Joe to his counterpart, Danny Broadhurst.

Joe, Danny and Brad began working together, that spring and in April of 2017, launched "The First annual Earth Day Paddle Cleanup," in which Newsday immediately published about.

Today, Joe resides in Old Greenwich, Connecticut

Brad has gone to the Carolinas

And Danny has returned to his hometown in England .
