Four Westmoor Caddies Receive Evans Scholarships
Westmoor Country Club, Brookfield, WI is proud to announce that four of the club’s caddies have been selected as recipients of Western Golf Association Evans Scholars Foundation scholarships, by the Wisconsin chapter.
The four are:
• Anthony Galusha
• Amyra Larry
• Keagan Schmitt
• Konstantinos “Kosta” Tourloukis
Established in 1930 by the Western Golf Association and celebrated amateur golfer Charles “Chick” Evans, Jr., the scholarships award full college tuition and housing. Nationally 1100 scholars are currently attending 22 different universities. It is anticipated that the recipients will attend either the University of Wisconsin or Marquette University.
The Westmoor caddies are 4 of 18 Wisconsin Evans Scholarships awarded out of 44 applicants. They are also the most recipients from any club in Wisconsin. The Westmoor caddie program is enabled by the Caddie & Leadership Academy.
The recipients are selected based on four criteria.
• Strong caddie record: Applicants must have caddied, regularly and successfully, for a minimum of two years and are expected to caddie at their sponsoring club the year they apply for the scholarship.
• Excellent academics: Applicants must have completed their junior year of high school with above a B average in college preparatory courses.
• Demonstrated financial need: Applicants must clearly have a need for financial assistance.
• Outstanding character: Applicants must be outstanding in character, integrity, and leadership.
“While we have four standout caddies that have earned this tremendous scholarship, none of this would happen without the support of our members, as well as the work of caddie manager Tim Schneider. The financial support of the members and their desire to hire these caddies for loops, are an integral key to the Evans Scholarship,” said Vince Pulizzano, head golf professional, Westmoor Country Club.
