Flood City Velo exists to promote a culture of Road Riding through training and racing, in an atmosphere of teamwork and dedication.

The final race of the season occurred on Oct 5, 2025. The 24th annual Clearfield King of the Mountain is a 5 mile individual race gaining 1161 feet up Rockton Mountain Road, to benefit Habitat for Humanities of Clearfield County. Here are the results:

Men 30-39

1st place and 5th overall (Out of 44 finishers)

Flood City Velo participated in the 3M Challenge in Cumberland Maryland, today September 20, 2025. The race is on the Great Allegheny Passage from Cumberland to Frostburg, and consists of riding the 15.5 mile course faster than a steam locomotive on the concurrent track. We are happy to report that all 4 Flood City Velo riders accomplished it! The train completed the circuit in 1:05:07.7

Here are the times and placings of the riders, out of 73 who rode the course:

Tony Santos: 6th place at 0:51:19.1 18.41 MPH
David Hersh: 7th place at 0:52:38.7 17.95 MPH
Daniel Dunmore: 17th place at 0:59:22.8 15.91 MPH
Dan Rozov: 26th place at 1:02:29.9 15.12 MPH

Flood City Velo rode in the Milton Harvest Festival 2025 race on Sept. 6. Here are the team results:

Male 36-40
1st place-Tony Santos @ 1:13:46

2nd place-Daniel E. Dunmore @ 1:25:35
3rd place-David Hersh @ 1:29:35

Male 66-70
1st place-Jim Sota @ 1:25:35

There were a total of 79 riders throughout all of the age groups. Great ride by Tony and Jim for their first place in age group, and by Dan for his 2nd place, and Dave for his 3rd in their age groups. Great job FCV!

The Tour de Brandts time trial in St. Thomas PA was held on Sat, August 30, 2025 and here are the results:

Flood City Velo riders took part in the Mt. Davis Challenge Road Race, a 40-mile USAC race with 5,000 feet of climbing, on July 27, 2025. The team acknowledges the exceptional efforts of Jim Sota, Race Director and team member, in organizing the event. His commitment has not gone unnoticed, and the team is grateful for his hard work. Results are as follows: Tony Santos placed 11th out of 30 in the Men's Category 5 with a time of 2:26:17.30 and an average speed of 16.4 mph. In the Men's Masters 55+ division, David Hersh finished 17th out of 26 in 2:35:49.87 at 15.4 mph, and Daniel E. Dunmore took 19th place out of 26 in 2:47:17.13 at 14.3 mph. Well done to all participants.

The Tour de Varacallo was conducted in Dubois, PA today, July 13, 2025, in memory of the late Dr. Albert Varacallo and his wife, Luanne. Dr. Varacallo was tragically lost in a bicycle accident, and today's race was held to honor their memory. Here are the Flood City Velo results from the race:

Tony Santos--4th place overall (out of 33) and 2nd in the 30-39 age group at 49:54.93 for the 18 mile course

David Hersh--8th place overall and 1st in the 60-69 age group at 51:00.70

Daniel E. Dunmore--10th place overall and 2nd in the 60-69 age group at 54:24.64

Robert Berkebile--24th place overall and 5th in the 60-69 age group at 1:03:38.83

Also:
Dan Rozov--15th place overall and 5th in the 30-39 age group at 56:47.89

Nice race to everyone on a very fast course.

Flood City Velo rode in the Tour De Brockway today, July 4th, 2025. It was a beautiful day for a fun race. Below are the team results:

Tony Santos-6th overall (Out of 58) and 1st in the 30-39 age group at 53:43.38

David Hersh-14th overall and 1st in the 60-69 age group at 59:13.18

Daniel Dunmore-20th overall and 2nd in the 60-69 age group at 1:02:17.78

Jim Sota-22nd overall and 3rd in the 60-69 age group at 1:02:20.48

All riders were on the podium, including a sweep of the 60-69 age group. Congratulations to all of the riders for the strong effort!

Flood City Velo participated in the Clarion County Summer Festival Rail 66 Time Trial in Leeper, PA on Saturday June 7th, 2025, and here are the official results:

Tony Santos-6th overall and 3rd in the 30-39 age bracket with a time of 29:05.63

Jim Sota-8th overall and 2nd in the 60-69 age bracket with a time of 30:53.35

David Hersh-10th overall and 3rd in the 60-69 age bracket with a time of 31:44.77

Daniel E. Dunmore-14th overall and 6th in the 60-69 age bracket with a time of 32:17.50

Robert Berkebile-26th overall and 8th in the 60-69 age bracket with a time of 36:17.40

Flood City Velo participated in the Somerset Rotary Club Walk, Run & Ride Event
Saturday, May 3rd 2025 on the Great Allegheny Passage Trail in Rockwood, PA, and they swept the podium in the biking portion of the event. Results as follows:

First place-Jim Sota @ 1:10:07
Second place-Tony Santos @ 1:10:08
Third place-Daniel Dunmore @ 1:10:09

On Sunday October 6, 2024, The King of the Mountain race was held in Clearfield PA. This race has spanned more than 22 years, and supports the work of Habitat for Humanity in the Clearfield County Area. This year was a celebration of the life of the late founder, John Farr.

Flood City Velo participated in the race, and here are our results:

Tony Santos - 1st place in the 30-39 age group at 21:32, 4th overall
Jim Sota - 2nd place in the 60-69 age group at 23:45, 12th overall
David Hersh - 3rd place in the 60-69 age group at 24:53, 17th overall
Daniel Dunmore - 4th place in the 50-59 age group at 25:39, 19th overall
Robert Berkebile - 4th place in the 60-69 age group at 30:10, 27th overall

And in the team competition:

Flood City Velo took 1st Place as the overall quickest team!

We had a great racing season this year, and look forward to another great year in 2025!

Flood City Velo rode the annual Milton Harvest Festival Race on 9/7/24 and here are the results:

36-40 age group-Anthony Santos came in 1st place at 1:10:49, 9th overall. Congratulations Tony!
46-50 age group-Clark Hostetter came in 7th place at 1:20:57, 39th overall
56-60 age group-Daniel Dunmore came in 4th place at 1:21:02, 40th overall
60-65 age group-David Hersh came in 3rd place at 1:21:26, 41st overall
66-70 age group-James Sota came in 2nd place at 1:18:48, 37th overall. Congratulations Jim!
