Blountville Bujinkan Dojo

Blountville Bujinkan Dojo The Blountville Bujinkan Dojo is an private school offering instruction in feudal Japanese Samurai arts, both armed and unarmed.

The system is based on the 9 different ryu-ha that comprise the Bujinkan as taught by Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi. The school is small and personal, similar to the schools in ancient Japan. Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is a koryu, a old Japanese martial art which focuses on the use of body positioning and movement to achieve disturbance of balance and uses strikes, kicks, throws, joint locks, and pins to contro

l an attacker. Additionally, Bujinkan instruction incorporates the proper use of battlefield weapons and armor to compliment the unarmed aspect of the arm.

“The idea of menkyô kaiden is to transmit the teachings through training and developing a community feeling among everyone.
The concept of menkyô kaiden is one not of teaching but of transmitting the feeling of Budô.”
