🏀 Lancers Show Heart in Tough Road Test 💙
The Bristol Eastern High School girls basketball team came out strong Thursday night but fell to a talented Southington High School squad, 73–45, on the road.
Eastern set the tone early, jumping out to a 17–10 lead after the first quarter with aggressive play on both ends of the floor. Jayle Evins-Mosley was active inside, Liv Viens opened the scoring with a three, and Cassie Sward attacked the basket as the Lancers played with confidence and energy.
The Lancers continued to compete in the second quarter and held a 20–12 advantage early, showing poise against one of the top teams in the CCC. Southington responded with a late first-half run, but Eastern went into the locker room still battling.
Southington’s pressure in the third quarter shifted momentum, but the Lancers never backed down. The effort, hustle, and growth were evident throughout the night — valuable experience for a young team continuing to develop.
