WINDSOR – The Gators turned in an impressive performance while playing up in the 14U State Championships at Fast Pitch Nation Park, finishing 4-1 on the weekend.

The Gators earned victories over CT Mirage (15-2), CT Bearcats (6-3), Enfield Extreme (15-1), and CT Pride (15-1) before falling to the Greenwich Firebirds, 8-1, in the elimination round.

Vs. CT Mirage (15-2)
Lucy Kalat led the offense with two hits and five RBI. Lucy Bastiaanse added three hits and scored twice, while Makinnley Whitlock and Makenzie Wentland each collected two hits and three RBI. Ellie Tiscia scored two runs and drew two walks, and Kylie Nass contributed a hit, a walk, and three runs scored.

Vs. CT Bearcats (6-3)
Makinnley Whitlock paced the Gators with three hits and three RBI. Kylie Nass reached base three times with a hit and two walks while scoring twice. Dakota Green added a hit, run, and RBI, while Ellie Tiscia had a hit and a walk. FaithMarie Soto chipped in a hit. In the circle, Lucy Bastiaanse struck out 10 and also collected two hits at the plate.

Vs. Enfield Extreme (15-1)
Lucy Kalat finished with two hits, four RBI, and two runs scored. Makinnley Whitlock continued her hot weekend with three hits, three runs, and two RBI. Ellie Tiscia contributed a hit, two walks, a run, and an RBI, while Dakota Green added a hit, two RBI, and two walks. Alex Patterson drove in a run, Lucy Bastiaanse scored three times and reached base three times, Kylie Nass had two hits and two runs, and Makenzie Wentland crossed the plate twice.

Vs. CT Pride (15-1)
Lucy Kalat totaled two hits, two runs, and three RBI. FaithMarie Soto added a hit, RBI, and two runs, while Lucy Bastiaanse recorded a hit, two RBI, and two runs. Mary Thompson drove in a run, Ellie Tiscia scored twice and drew two walks, and Kylie Nass added a hit and two RBI. Keeva Knowles and Dakota Green each drew two walks and scored runs in the victory.

Vs. Greenwich Firebirds (8-1)

WATERTOWN — The Gators finished third this past weekend in the highly competitive Rapids Early Bird Tournament.

In the semifinals, the Gators fell to Gap2Gap, 4-0, snapping their 20-game winning streak.

The loss came after a hard-fought 2-0 victory over CT Fury in the quarterfinals. Lucy Bastiaanse and Avery Collins combined to allow just two hits, while the Gators’ defense was outstanding, recording 14 outs with only one error.

Lucy Kalat drove in Keeva Knowles with the go-ahead run on a bunt single and later scored on an RBI groundout by Collins.

During pool play, the Gators cruised to three victories, outscoring the Rapids, CT Bombers, and CT Fury by a combined 40-3 margin.

Against the Rapids, Makinnley Whitlock collected two hits, scored twice, and drove in two runs.

In the win over the Bombers, Mary Thompson recorded two hits, a run scored, and an RBI. Alex Patterson added a hit, a run, and an RBI, while FaithMarie Soto contributed a hit and scored a run.

Dakota Green delivered a monster performance against CT Fury, finishing with two hits and four RBIs. Kalat also powered a home run in the victory.

NORWICH — The Gators secured both tans and trophies this weekend at a sweltering Ouellet Park, capturing the Rose City Rumble in thrilling fashion.

In the championship game, trailing by one in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Gators rallied for five runs to take control. Lucy Bastiaanse delivered the go-ahead RBI single to score FaithMarie Soto, Keeva Knowles followed with an RBI triple and Mary Thompson added a sacrifice fly to cap the scoring.

Lucy Bastiaanse and Lucy Kalat combined for eight strikeouts in the circle to lead the Gators. Alex Patterson added two hits, while Makinnley Whitlock and Ellie Tiscia each chipped in a hit.

The Gators opened the day with a tight 4-3 victory over the Monarchs, highlighted by Lucy Kalat’s walk-off RBI single that scored Lucy Bastiaanse.

Ellie Tiscia and Alex Patterson each had RBI singles, while Mary Thompson also drove in a run. FaithMarie Soto and Makinnley Whitlock each added singles. Lucy Bastiaanse tossed a complete game with seven strikeouts.

In the second game of the day, the Gators rolled past Shoreline Breakers Navy, 11-1.

Alex Patterson blasted a home run and finished with three RBI. Dakota Green added a hit, two RBI and two walks. Mary Thompson had a hit and three RBI, while Lucy Bastiaanse collected two hits.

NORWICH — The Gators dominated the opening day of the Rose City Rumble on Saturday, cruising to a perfect 3-0 record. They secured decisive victories over the Shoreline Breakers (8-1), CT Bombers Black (7-4), and CT Bombers Teal (15-0). With the undefeated Saturday performance, the Gators have locked in the #2 seed for Sunday’s single-elimination round.

PROVIDENCE — Keeva Knowles blasted her second career over-the-fence home run and Makinnley Whitlock went 4-for-4 to power the Gators to a 13-5 victory over the Shoreline Breakers in the championship game of the Elmwood Spring Kickoff.

Lucy Kalat struck out nine and walked just one over six innings, while adding three hits and three runs scored at the plate.

Alex Patterson collected two hits, including a double, and Mary Thompson added a single and a run scored. Dakota Green, Lucy Bastiaanse, Ellie Tiscia and FaithMarie Soto all drove in runs. Green also threw out a runner attempting to steal to end a Breakers rally.

In the semifinals, the Gators rolled past Massachusetts, 10-0, behind a dominant performance from Lucy Bastiaanse, who struck out seven and tripled at the plate.

Ellie Tiscia ripped two hits, including a triple, while adding an RBI and a run scored. Behind the plate, she also threw out two runners attempting to steal. Lucy Kalat finished with two hits, three RBI and two runs scored, while Keeva Knowles added two hits.

Mary Thompson and Alex Patterson each drove in runs, while FaithMarie Soto, Dakota Green and Makinnley Whitlock all scored.
