READ PLEASE
For everyone that says high fence hunting/high fences in general are a joke/fish in a barrel and all that other BS, that most naysayers that comment on my pics think.... No nothing about the truth to this typically construed opinion, not fact, but opinion how high fence hunting is not "real"!! pay attention to this
I'm sure all of you guys that follow this page have seen this buck, if you haven't this is a pretty amazing typical deer located in south Texas, we named the deer Pretty Boy, and he is regardless of what any of you guys say or think a 100% pasture born deer, not out of any pen or breeding facility....I've been fortunate enough to follow this deer (in a 7000 acre high fence) since he was 2 yrs old...this is his 7 yr old head...we've found his sheds the last two years and they have grossed scored 283" @5 and 291" @6....as most of you no he's not that big this year, but will def blow through 250 and is way cleaner!!! Most likely if ever harvested the largest gross and net typical (non released animal in the state of Texas)These bucks are hard to ever grow in a controlled pen environment much less the pasture, and yes by pasture I mean (7000 acres under high fence)
I have seen this buck since he grew his 3 yr old head 1 time ever in all those years in between in the pasture!!! ONCE!!!! We hunt nearly everyday from Oct 1st through the end of January, we being a minimum of 2-4 average daily....and he has been seen a total of 4 times EVER....4 times in a 5 seasons?! That's over 500 sits between an average of 2-4 people and that's low, and this trapped/joke hunting/high fenced/penned animals has been seen 4 times???
Moral of this guys and girls, is yes there are always going to be deer in a high fence that will stand there and look at you like an idiot, some are huge and some are dinks....this is no different then any low fence deer...I've hunted both scenarios my entire life and seen it happen everywhere, I.E. The famous King Ranch all low fence if you've been there you can't argue the facts....
Whitetail deer are very intelligent animals, all hunters across North America that hunt them can not argue this fact, just because they are in a high fence doesn't make them just as intelligent as any other whitetail? Yes we have large number of animals and yes you can come drive around and see many, and yes they are in a controlled, manageable environment.....but by no means does that make the mature bucks that we try to target easy by any means....
Fire away!!!
