📢We are officially 6 MONTHS out from The Big Hurt!

Now is the time to start gathering your squad - whether they are on your team, or a competitor in the iron division - start making a plan to join us in Port Angeles September 26th.

The Big Hurt is a multi-sport race that includes four legs and is unique in that all transitions are at the same location, making for an all-day party atmosphere. Even better, the transition is located at Pebble Beach Park on the beautiful waterfront in downtown Port Angeles.

Race legs include:
🚵‍♀️ A 15-mile mountain bike that takes place in the foothills above Port Angeles (10-mile mountain bike, 5 miles on road downhill to downtown Port Angeles race hub for transition to kayak leg)
💧 A 2.6-mile kayak in Port Angeles Harbor
🚴‍♂️A 30-mile road bike that goes west out of Port Angeles and crosses the Elwha River and visits Freshwater Bay, as well as the lower parts of Kelly Ridge on Dan Kelly and Eden Valley Roads.
🏃‍♀️ A 10K Run, out and back on the Olympic Discovery Trail along the waterfront

Thank you PLU Outdoor Recreation Department for coming out and being our 1st kayak rental of 2026! The weather held beautifully for a paddle around Pleasant Harbor and Black Point. We are open now for rentals by appointment but need at least a few days notice. Since we are trailering equipment at this time we can also deliver to a number of nearby locations at no extra charge.
