Zermatt was incredible! The weather was perfect and I want to go back to snowboard sometime.
Here’s 3 things I’ll definitely do next time I visit, winter or summer.
1. Ditch the hotel - paying for an apartment and buying groceries is a must. Eating out in this town is wayyyy too much. I’ll also explore staying in a town just below zermatt accessible by train. I’m sure there’s cheaper options, even though our hotel was amazing.
2. Plan some guided excursions - we went to zermatt to unwind and relax, and we wanted to flow through the days. this is just how we like to travel. Had we wanted to pack more activities in, getting some guided excursions planned and booked beforehand would have helped us maximize our time. If you only have a couple days, it’s best to think about this.
3. Get the Swiss pass! It’s essential. I didn’t think it would be worth it for just a few days but we would have already gotten our value out of it. There different options based on your length of stay, but long story short it makes the trains cheaper and easier, alongside discounts on key activities that you would want to do!
