Attention State and Gold Cup Racers:
We want to address the ongoing questions about Gold Cup, State, and District points from our race weekend that we hope will be helpful for racers navigating the various USABMX points circuits.
There are two separate issues that need some disambiguation and clarification, and they are not the same thing: 1) Race Day Results and 2) USABMX Points and Standings.
Issue 1: Race-Day Results
Race-day results are the actual finishes from the event: who raced, what class they raced in, and how they finished.
Tracks are responsible for running the event, scoring the race day, keeping results available for review, correcting any race-result errors brought to their attention, and submitting the race information to USA BMX.
For our May 31st GC/SQR event, Brighton BMX kept live scoring/results available for approximately seven days so riders and families had time to review their results. During that time, we were already aware of one scoring discrepancy in the 51–55 Intermediate class. That issue was corrected promptly.
We have not received any other race-result corrections from the event to date.
Because live results remained available for review for a week, and because no additional race-result corrections were submitted to Brighton BMX, we consider the submitted race results final.
Race results for Brighton BMX can always be viewed here: https://www.usabmx.com/tracks/il-brighton-bmx/results.
All USABMX tracks have a similar results page where you can review race day results. Note: Not all tracks offer live motos.
Issue 2: USA BMX Points and Standings
USA BMX points and standings are different from race-day results.
Once a track submits their race-day information, USA BMX handles the calculation, posting, updating, and correction of District, Gold Cup, and State points.
Individual tracks do not calculate those points, do not post those standings, and cannot correct individual points inside the USA BMX points system.
We understand that there have been ongoing issues with District, Gold Cup and Illinois State points not posting accurately or not appearing for a period of time. Some of those issues appear to have been corrected by USABMX but there may still be individual points discrepancies.
Any posted points discrepancies are NOT something Brighton BMX can correct. Posted points and standings MUST be reviewed and corrected through USA BMX.
You can view district, state and Gold Cup series points at www.usabmx.com/ and selecting “points” then the respective series in the drop down menu.
If you believe your rider’s USABMX posted points are incorrect, please document the rider’s name, serial number, class, race date, finish, and the specific issue you are seeing, then submit that information directly to USA BMX for review. Points corrections should be submitted to USA BMX by emailing [email protected].
