Hello everybody!



This week we are training our weapons skills! White-Orange Belts need nunchucks, Green-Sr. Blue Belts need a bo staff, Red belts and up need a wooden Bokken sword!

After this week we are entering into our review module, before the upcoming testing this month on September 26th!

All students wishing to test for their next belt should submit their applications starting now! The due date is September 17th! Don't forget that all testing students must write an essay, and you can find the topic for your belt level on the appropriate criteria sheet in the student portal.

Hello everybody!

This week we are training strikes and self-defense! September is a belt testing month, so please all students wishing to advance to the next belt please turn in your belt testing applications no later than Thursday 09/17/2026! You may submit belt testing applications in the online student portal.

Next week we will be focused on weapons! Please make sure to order the appropriate training weapon for your belt level if you do not have it already! Speak with Master Alex for any questions regarding this. You may order your training weapons and all other gear by using our online store, found on our website yongdoacademy.com.

Hello everyone!

Please bring your mouthguards (and athletic cups for males) this week, as we are training our Nak Bup and Grappling! Don't forget, water too!

Weapons training is upcoming, so please everyone ensure that you have the appropriate training weapons for you current belt level! If you do not, get them ordered now on our online store! If you have questions please ask Master Alex.

White-Orange belts should have foam covered nunchucks (with chain for better operation, with rope for younger students)

Green-Sr. Blue Belts should have a Bo staff approximately their same height

Red and up should have a wooden Bokken (katana sword)

Upcoming on October 17th, Grandmaster Y.S. Choi is hosting a tournament at his school in Lamar, Colorado! Details will be in the events section of the student portal, and I will bring some flyers to class also. I would like for all students to attend if possible!

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone had an absolutely wonderful 4th of July! Happy 250th America!

This week we are coming off of break, and back into training with full spirit! Sparring is the topic this week, please bring ALL sparring gear that you have, and water too! Today, Monday July 6th, at 6pm there will be an orientation at the Reunion Recreation Center for any students or interested persons to attend. Located at 17910 Parkside Dr N, Commerce City, CO 80022. This orientation is not mandatory, and aimed at familiarizing students with the facility, the schedule, and to answer questions.

COMING VERY SOON! OUR ANNUAL BBQ & BOARD BREAK on the 18th! This year it is also competition style, meaning we will be judging for medals and awards. Make sure to get registered in the upcoming events section of the student portal or by using the link below! There are also two seminars before the BBQ and Board Break, making a Three-Day Grand Opening event to celebrate our return to the Rec Center! Do not delay, register today!
