Once we get the spine prepped, we can work more specific shoulder exercises. Mobility and stability are both necessary for optimal shoulder health as they are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

You can't have one without the other if you want.

Including general and position specific drills can help with the transition to on the field performance like shoulder CAR'S or positional isometrics (PAIL's / RAIL's) then mixing loading exercises like arm bars, crawling variations, and push pull variations.

These are some of the exercises I program for myself as a general prep for my upper body days.

Shoulder mobility starts with the spine, no if's about it. I like to say that the arm will only move well if it has something stable and controlled to on.

IE the scapula sitting on our rib cage.

These are some of my main T spine mobility drills to hammer flexion/extension and rotation

1. Cat/Camels
2. Qped t spine extension with over pressure
3. Qped abductor rockback and rotate
4. Half kneeling wall t spine rotation.

Great as a warm up prior to specific shoulder work with j bands or plyo balls, active recovery days, general mobility, and post throwing.

With the end of high school baseball and into the summer season I always remind my athletes that the game is simple and fun.

Getting better is simple.

Winning is fun.

Remember what it took to get you to the place you are now. It wasn't the crazy gimmicky exercises or drill to that has little to no carry over.

It wasn't the new piece of equipment, bat, or swag.

It will always be the hard word and dedication , and discipline to your craft on and off the field.

The weight room at is nothing to gawk at. It is a simple and has everything we need. With planning, hard work and care, everyone that walked into my gym came out a winner and had amazing seasons. They all know who they are.. we will never settle for mediocrity. We chase Greatness
