We all love a cute, stylish boot moment 🤠✨ …but not every boot belongs in the saddle.

One of the questions we get asked most before riding lessons is, “What kind of boots does my child need?” And honestly, the right riding boot isn’t just about looks — it’s an important part of rider safety.

So it’s time for a boot check!👢

✅ YES to riding boots with:
• A small heel to help prevent the foot from slipping through the stirrup
• Smooth soles that can easily slide in and out of stirrups
• Ankle support and structured fit
• Slim profiles designed for riding safety

❌ NO to rain boots, hiking boots, chunky tread soles, or high-fashion high heels:
• Deep rubber tread can get stuck in stirrups
• Flat soles without a heel are less secure
• Bulky boots can make it harder to position your foot correctly
• Soft rubber rain boots often lack proper support for riding
• High heels can affect balance and stability in the saddle

Let’s talk riding ba****ck!
Ba****ck is really great for young riders. First most, it helps improve their balance by engaging and building their core muscles. They become more aware of how their body is supposed to move with the horses. It not only builds confidence but helps them build softer hands (gentle with reins) since they stop bouncing and learn to balance rather than lean on the reins. Our Bam Bam is the perfect one to practice on! Needless to say Abby has become a natural! ☺️

It’s almost time for horse camp again. 👏 Can’t wait to see all our kids who’ve signed up this year! I just hope I’m not completely dead by week 5. 😅 We have our Youth Camp Counselors mostly lined up. I’m still looking for a couple horse knowledgable adults to help!
