About Whiffle Wings co-founders:
Greg Wickard was born and raised with one foot in the North Platter
River in western Nebraska. During this time, he has quietly (and not so quietly) observed the finishing motions of ducks and geese. In 2010, he and his partner designed a prototype of a snow goose whiffle wing. After being able to finally decoy the "white devils", they used this same theory on Canada geese and ducks, discovering their instant and hypnotic draw to the motion. Greg has been actively guiding waterfowl hunters for 30 years in both river and field hunting. He and his wife have been married for 28 years and have 2 daughters, a son-in-law, and a grandson. Greg is sure you will find your set of Whiffle Wings a great asset in all your waterfowl hunting!
--------------------------------------
Bill grew up east of Bridgeport, NE and spent his childhood hunting and fishing. If he wasn’t hunting pheasants and ducks in the fall, he was running a trap line for muskrats and mink. When you talk to Bill, he will tell you he remembers when the pheasant and quail were plentiful and the ducks and geese hard to find. He will tell you of hunting seasons where if you killed one goose, it was a great year. When waterfowl made it’s recovery, Bill’s passion became decoying birds. “If you can get a bird to put its feet down, you’ve got the bird” is one of his favorite sayings. In 2010, he and his partner acted on their mutual passion for decoying birds and devised a prototype which replicates “whiffling” snow geese. They continued and happily realized that Canadian geese were also drawn to the movement of their prototype. Bill has hunted and fished for over 50 years. He’s been married for 40 years to a sometimes less than patient wife, has two beautiful daughters, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren. He is sure that once you experience how “Whiffle Wings” work, you will need several pairs for your waterfowl adventures.
