Unofficial Review!!

Trifecta App vs RP Strength app

Just completed my use of the trifecta app. The Trifecta app is a useful tool that lends support by tracking your macro's with a visually enhanced layout that is clean and organized. The app uses a modern interface, it's easy to navigate but there re some moments when editing and changing nutrition from meal to meal causes the app to freeze then crash. There is currently no option to scan trifecta meals directly into the app via QR code or bar code, this is a missed opportunity.

The RP Strength app is the barebones app that focuses on keeping you on track to your current goals. There are limitations in place that prevent you from exceeding any one given macro (Protein, carbs, fat). This keeps you accountable but limits you on flexibility depending your training or activity for the day. The software is easy to use, easy to understand and is guided by your goals which you set in the front configuration of your subscription.

Trifecta app Pros: It's a great app with clean layouts, modern software and is great for anyone looking to track macros with flexibility, You can set your goals from week to week (not in the app) over a long period of time. It celebrates your achievements through tracking.

Trifecta app Cons: It has room to grow and needs improvement on the developers side to integrate new technologies. It lacks accountability within the app and allows "flexibility" to become an unconscious crutch that could derail you from your goals.

RP Strength App Pros: App is easy to set goals from the beginning, which entices users to get started. It's simple, barebones and keeps you accountable to your goals and provides restrictions for the athlete in you to obtain your goals efficiently. It gets the job done.

RP Strength App Cons: This app isn't for the casual gym goer, it limits flexibility in your macros, especially for those looking to be healthier rather than improve metrics in strength, conditioning and aesthetics.

Personal view:

The trifecta app celebrates your progress, taps your ass and tells you to "get back out there" and keep going.

The RP strength app is a no bu****it, no excuses "let's get this goal obtained, it keeps you accountable while telling you to "put down that extra spoon of peanut butter because your fats have already been met, go eat some fruit". It's direct, sometimes deflating but it's necessary.

Disclosure: Both have helped me obtained successes on both platforms, but these tools come down to your goals and your willingness to make adjustments and changes to your lifestyle.

This is not professional advice and should be taken with a grain of salt, if you need nutritional assistance, please seek out a licensed or certified nutritionist for further adjustments to your nutrition. Tonight is the eve of the CrossFit Open 2023. Tomorrow we kick off with the announcement of 23.1 but tonight we discuss a few tips and provide some insight to the competitors who will face off during tomorrow's workout announcement.

Will we see a repeat workout?
Will the wall walk make their return?
Could we see shuttle runs introduced to the open?
