Lady Cardinal golfers Aubrey Carpenter, Savanah Murdock, and Abigelle' Champagne were invited to the 2026 Babe Zaharias Award banquet last night. This event celebrates area golfers who excel on the course and in the community. The awards are divided into upperclassman (11-12) and underclassmen (9-10) groups with 2 awards in each. Players are nominated by area coaches and then go through a selection process performed by a committee. I am pleased to announce that Savanah Murdock received the Underclassmen Character award and Aubrey Carpenter received the Upperclassman Girls Player of the Year award. Abigelle' Champagne was 1of 3 who were nominated for the girls Underclassmen award. Unfortunately, Savanah was unable to attend. Congratulations to these ladies. The recognition is well deserved. Congratulations to all of the area golfers who received the awards. HS golf in SE Texas is strong and BC Cardinals golfers will continue to represent with honor and class.

After a long hard two day Region golf tournament, the 2026 season for the Lady Cardinal team has come to an end. These ladies played the best they could this week but it wasn't enough to advance to the next level. The team ended in 7th place out of 14 teams. This team will loose one Sr and she will be missed. It was a great year for these ladies as they placed in every tournament they participated in up to now. A great foundation of players is there and the team expectations keep growing. It was a fantastic year and great time to be a part of all things in the land of the Cardinals.

The 2026 season for Cardinal boys golf has officially come to an end. Max Pachar and Hunter Ford participated in the UIL Region III tournament held at the Bearkat Course in Huntsville, TX on Monday and Tuesday of this week. The two did the best they could, but came up short and did not advance to State. It was a great season for the boys and 9 Sr's will be leaving this team. Thank you to all of the boys for representing BC with class.

A little late, but wanted to congratulate the Cardinal JV golfers for a successful tournament. Our District held the first ever (I think) JV tournament this past Wednesday at Bayou Din in Beaumont. 6 schools were represented with 3 teams and a total of 24 boys and 8 girls participating. The event was won by Lumberton with our Cardinals taking 2nd place finishing 3 strokes behind. Individually, Even Hull (Jr) shot his personal best with an 83 and won 2nd place. Beaux Wolfe (Fr) carded an 87 as this was his personal best also. The girls did not have teams of 5 but did have pairs of players for all schools participating today. The Lady Cards played well enough to be the 2nd place scoring pair of players. The 2 ladies played well and as always all of our kids represented BC with class. The future of Cardinal golf looks to be in good hands as we continue to work towards the goal of being the best. It's a great day to be a Cardinal.

Cardinal golf participated in the District 18 tournament over the last 2 days. All of the players did their best as they represented BC. The girls' team of Aubrey Carpenter, Savanah Murdock, Kylie Hantz, Jayden Hawkins, and Taylor Roy won 1st place. Making the BC girls team winners of the last 4 district titles. This team will advance to the Region III tournament in Huntsville in April. Aubrey Carpenter was 2nd place individual today carding a 2 day total of 175. The girls' 2nd team consisting of Abi Champagne, Harmony Chisholm, Harper Johnson, Allison Gutierrez, and Addi Bearden placed 3rd.

The boys team of Braydon Denison, Kevin Cullums, Hunter Ford, Max Pachar, and Braylon Merren placed 3rd. The boys made a great effort to advance to the Regional tournament, but fell a few strokes back since only 2 teams advance. However, Hunter Ford and Max Pachar did qualify to advance to the Region III tournament as individuals. The 2nd team of Logan Jacobs, Jake Tahaney, Deagan Becker, Judson Carlin, and Carson Richey played well but were several strokes back from placing.

The JV players will have a 1 day event on April 1st. For most of our golfers the District tournaments are the last event of the year. It's has been a great year and good luck to those who made the Regiinal tournament. It's a great day to be a Cardinal.

The entire Cardinal girls team played in the BC Var. Girls Inv. held at Bayou Din in Beaumont. The 1st team placed 3rd on a course that had very wet conditions due to the past rain. Savanah Murdock placed 2nd carding a 92. 17 schools were represented with 85 girls competing today. The next event for the girls will be the District tournament on March 24th & 25th where they will attempt to win their 3rd straight title.

Today, the Var. Boys played in the Vidor Pirate Inv. held at Brentwood GC in Beaumont. The 1st team placed 3rd out of 10 teams carding a team total of 333. This team consists of Kevin Cullums, Braydon Denison, Hunter Ford, Max Pachar, and Braylon Merren. The 2nd team of Logan Jacobs, Jake Tahaney, Deagan Becker, Gage King, and Brody Lonion did well ending up in 7th place. The boys did well in very wet conditions with lots of good competitive golf played by all players.
