Tonight, Match Fit Surf Director of Coaching Dominick Bucci met with our Girls ECNL staff, players, and parents, along with Karlie Young, Sports Scientist and Senior Manager of Customer Success at PlayerData.
Karlie brings an exceptional combination of elite playing experience and sports-science expertise. A former Duke University player and U.S. Youth National Team member, Karlie earned 12 international caps, was a two-time Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year, and was named one of Tennesseeโs Top 50 Female High School Athletes of the past 50 years.
Because Karlie has experienced the demands of the game at the highest levels, she understands both sides of performance dataโwhat the numbers show and how those numbers can help players develop, prepare, recover, and perform.
Tonightโs meeting focused on why Match Fit Surf is using PlayerData and how our players and coaches can use objective informationโincluding total distance, high-intensity running, sprint distance, accelerations, decelerations, and sprint effortsโto better understand performance and support long-term player development.
This is not about collecting numbers. It is about educating our players and parents, improving the decisions we make, and providing our staff with another valuable tool to help every player reach her potential.
