LureSafe Handmade and Custom-Made Tackle Covers, for storage and transport. We DO NOT SELL LICENSES Our founder, Mike Mauk, ran into a common problem while fishing with his mother one season. He noticed how their hooks were getting caught on everything and their lures were getting tangled. Mike Mauk’s ingenuity and curiosity took over, and Mauk’s Fishing Stuff was born. Offering custom, hand-made dodger sleeves and lure covers, we hope to ease your fishing experience so you can focus on the fish and not your gear. Every product is made by fisherman for fisherman, with materials from here in the USA. We take pride in crafting custom products for you -- we’ve got your tackle covered.

🇺🇸🎣 HONORING OUR HEROES ON THE WATER! 🎣🇺🇸

The Everett Coho Derby and Columbia Distributing Welcomes Salmon for Soldiers.

In lieu of a day of Honor this year, the crew at the Salmon for Soldiers organization are inviting active military, veterans and captains to participant in this year’s Coho Derby.

Derby tickets for both Soldiers and Captains will be paid for by Salmon for Solders.

All Soldiers and Captains MUST pre-register at https://salmonforsoldiers.org/

All Derby Rules Apply.

To celebrate this new partnering, a $250 contingency prize will be awarded to the registered captain whose registered soldier catches the largest coho among all registered soldiers. 🐟🏆

This is a great chance for our local fishing community to give back to the men and women who have served our country. ❤️🤍💙

If you’re a captain willing to volunteer your time and boat to take a soldier fishing during the derby, we’d love to have you participate! And to all of our service members participating—thank you for your service and sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Let’s get these heroes on the water and make some memories! 🎣

$250. One big coho. One deserving soldier. One captain who cares. One awesome derby.

Everett Coho Derby 2026 will take place September 26 and 27. See our fb page or website for more details

Coho are flooding into Puget Sound right now! Numbers are up and catching is fast. We’re getting reports that people are having a hard time keeping more than one rod in the water at a time!

The Everett Coho Derby is coming up quick, what’s your favorite way to target coho in the Sound? The traditional hoochie and flasher, Silver Horde and Gold Star Fishing Lures spoons, stuffer baits or something else?

Thanks for the great picture and report Ingrid!

Thinking about a dining table upgrade? Here's the question most people forget to ask first: how many do you actually need to seat? 🪑

The general rule is 24 inches of table space per person for comfortable seating. So a 6-foot table comfortably seats 6. An 8-foot table seats 8. Going smaller saves floor space but means tight elbows at every holiday dinner.

Measure before you fall in love with a table!

Going into the Labor Day weekend, cool wet weather is helping with the fires and air quality, but numerous closures are still in place, limiting recreation options. In Kittitas County, the Salmon La Sac and Alpine Lakes Wilderness trails are all closed because of three fires: Three Queens, Kings and Goat. In Chelan County, the Little Giant Fire continues to with a closure area extending from Lake Wenatchee to Lake Chelan. The closure area recently extended slightly to the north, but the closures on the east side of Lake Chelan have been lifted. In addition, the Sisi fire is active in the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area east of Stehekin on the Pacific Crest Trail and the Batallion Cross Country Zone is closed. In Skagit County, several North Cascades National Park Backcountry Zones are closed for the Thunder Creek Fire. In Whatcom County, there are closures in effect in North Cascades National Park for the Luna and Border 2 fires. Okanogan County has closures in effect for the Sinlahekin and Ptarmigan Fires, although the Ptarmigan closure was recently reduced. Mount Rainier National Park still has a closure in effect along the northern part of the park, including the Sunrise area. The closure was recently updated to include additional locations on the north east side of the park, but reopen some trails and campgrounds near Sunrise. In addition, as of September 4th, there are still active closures in Skamania County/Gifford Pinchot National Forest for the High Lava Fire, and Lewis County/Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest for the Backbone Fire, and Umatilla National Forest/Walla Walla and Columbia County for the Paradise Fire. Find an interactive map with the latest closures at www.mapsnw.com/outdoors and get updated maps of each individual fire and find a consolidated list of information about active fires at www.northwestportal.com/fires
