PCCA Vice President Tommy Merrill, Past President Woody Higgins, and President Daniel Bell, receiving the IHEA-USA Agency Partner of the Year Award for 2026, from Ron Fournier, Recreational Safety Supervisor of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife at the Family Skills Day at the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine Outdoor Education Center in Augusta.

This National Award for Excellence in Hunter and Outdoor Education is an honor and quite humbling to recieve, but it would not be possible without the Amazing dedication of our Volunteer Hunter Education Instructors, over the decades, PCCA has educated 1,000s of new Hunters on the Outdoor skills necessary to be a Safe, Responsible, Ethical Hunter, Trapper, and Angler, PCCA would like to thank the International Hunter Education Association for recognizing the contributions the Hunter Safety Educators of PCCA give every single year, and a huge thank you to all of our Volunterrs that made this Award possible, Thank you all so much.

Volunteerism,

I am going to start out by saying, that i am just in awe of the dedication and commitment to Volunteerism by this Organization, while not all are in the photo, this group of folks give everything they have, to planning and executing events that the PCCA puts on.

This years Eastern Maine Sportsmen's Show was no exception, we had a fantastic show for 2026, and it was only possible because of an all hands on deck attitude,

Just for the weekend of the show, our Volunteers put in nearly 1,500 Volunteer hours, that is 37 full time weeks, in just one weekend, when you think about that, its actually mind boggling, our Archery Team, put in 193 Volunteer hours at the State of Maine Sportsman's Show in Augusta in one weekend, to bring Archery to 100s of Youth and Adults.

This is the level of commitment that goes into every single event that PCCA puts on, including the upcoming Family Funday in June, and PCCA Annual Bangor Gun Show coming in October.

From our Montly Dinner Meetings, to our PCCA events, these Volunteers step up, and get it done, I am proud, and honored to be part of an Organization with so many dedicated individuals that continually give back through Volunteerism.

If you have ever thought about giving some time to an Organization through Volunteerism, please do, I promise you, the feeling of fulfillment will be immediate, being a part of a group that gives back to your community is one of the most rewarding things one can do, so get involved where and when you can, even if its just an hour, never underestimate what that hour could mean to an organization and the community they serve.

To all of our Volunteers at PCCA, and Volunteers serving their community, thank you all so much, your dedication and commitment is inspiring!

The 2025 Bangor Gun Show was a huge success!

Thank you to our host, the Bangor Elk’s Lodge, our exhibitors, volunteers and many attendees. We saw many old friends and made new one. It was a great weekend. Planning for 2026 has already started.
